Chapter 45
Chapter 45:.
If Adrian had kept Uncle RK’s phone number a secret and had contacted him behind Stella’s back, she knew it was only a matter
of time before she was discovered. No, she couldn’t let that happen.
Of course, Adrian understood Stella’s intentions! She didn’t want him to get close to Uncle RK, nor did she want him to have any
contact with him. Now, she probably wanted to check her phone to delete Uncle RK’s number.
Adrian looked at her with a genuine and sincere expression on his little face. “Honey, I gave my phone number to the guy, but I
don’t have his number,” Adrian said innocently, as if he knew exactly what Stella meant by asking for his number.
He added, “Even if I had his number, I wouldn’t have contacted him without asking you first. But really, I don’t have the guy’s
number.”
Stella looked at his little face, seeing how honest he was, and felt that there was nothing wrong, so she herself did not check her
phone. Since Adrian didn’t have RK’s number, the initiative was still in her hands. “Forget about it, Adrian. Just remember to stay
away from that guy.”
“Why?” asked Adrian curiously. “Honey, I think the guy really likes you. He even calls you ‘Honey’.”
Stella pinched his little nose and said, “You’re still too little to understand things between adults. It’s getting late; go to bed.”
However, having chatted with RK for a long time before, Adrian felt full of energy. It was late and he wasn’t sleepy at all. So he
took the opportunity to ask the questions that were weighing on his little heart.
“Darling! Why didn’t you tell uncle that I am your son? Don’t you love me anymore? Do you think I will be a burden to you? Is that
why you didn’t tell uncle that you have a son?”.
Adrian continued, “Honey, you really like Uncle, don’t you? Are you worried that if you tell him about me he’ll stop liking you? You
must really like him.”
The little boy expressed all his thoughts aloud. For a moment, Stella didn’t know what to say.
She didn’t know how to explain the complicated relationship between adults to her son. To be honest, she didn’t want her
precious son to get caught up in the squabbling between adults. So Stella picked up the chattering child and headed to her room.
Along the way, he warned her, “Don’t ask too many questions. Remember, you can’t meet that guy or say anything to him. Or I’ll
get angry.”

“Honey, how can you say that? You have no conscience!” protested Adrian, kicking his little legs. “The guy risked his life to save
you, and yet you talk about him like that! How can you be so cold and heartless?”.
The little boy spoke in a very elegant way, something unexpected for his age. But the expression on his face was so serious that
it made his words seem even funnier. Stella didn’t pay much attention to the boy’s questions.
She laid the little boy on his soft bed, turned off the lights, closed the door and left him alone inside.
Inside the darkened room, Adrian felt the pain of being abandoned and ignored. “Stinking honey! She doesn’t like me anymore.
even less favored! Ahhh! The world is so cold and lonely!”
The next morning at the RK Group, after her face-to-face meeting with the project department team, Stella was directly
appointed secretary to the president. In an instant, she was transferred from the project department to the secretariat.
The secretary’s office was next to the president’s office, which made it convenient to get there as quickly as possible.
Stella had much more free time in the secretariat than in the project department. In short, she didn’t usually have much to do in
the secretary’s office. In the secretarial department, however, no one wanted to talk to her.
Although, after Stella moved there, she didn’t hear anyone gossiping about her, she had the feeling that the women in the office
were watching her. Every time she tried to do something, she felt countless pairs of eyes on her!
“Stella, these are the documents the president needs to sign today. Take them to his office.” The chief clerk said brusquely,
placing a stack of documents on Stella’s desk as she was about to sit down. Without waiting for her consent, the secretary left.
“Hey, Stella!” Someone sitting at the table next to hers tapped her on the shoulder. “I hear you’re having an affair with the
president.
Is it true?” asked the heavily made-up woman sitting next to her. She seemed to represent the entire secretarial department
because as soon as she asked, everyone in the department looked at her.
They all seemed to want to know. They gathered around Stella, their eyes filled with curiosity.
Stella felt embarrassed. “What are you talking about? Don’t talk nonsense.”
“How can it be nonsense, the whole company knows that you are having an affair with the president! Last time, when you were
harassed in the company, didn’t he help you and transfer you directly to the secretary? If you’re having an affair with the
president, why would he meddle in other people’s affairs?”
“Yes, if anything happens, you can tell us. We promise not to say another word,” someone added.
Stella was speechless. They won’t tell anyone.... It would be a miracle if they didn’t spread the word! In Stella wanted to deny it
before taking the documents to the president’s office, but surrounded by a group of women looking at her as if she were a zoo
exhibit, she decided to leave quickly.
She grabbed the documents and hurried out.
At the door to the president’s office, Stella stood outside, reluctant to enter. She didn’t want to see RK’s face.
After all, her return to the country was just an accident. There were still a lot of people and things in this city she didn’t want to
deal with. That’s why, even though they worked at the same company, Stella tried her best to avoid him.
She knew they could never be together.
However, when he returned to the country, fate wanted him to face everything he had avoided for six years. It seemed that
wherever she went, she would end up running into him. She could meet him every day.
“Knock, knock.” Stella raised her hand and knocked twice on the door. After waiting a moment, she heard a deep voice from
inside, “Come in.”
As soon as she opened the door, she was greeted by an unexpected scene. Sophia was sitting on RK’s lap. Perhaps she had
RK’s collar was slightly open, but Sophia’s clothes were even more disheveled. It didn’t take too much thought to figure out what
they were doing.
Last night, this man pretended he didn’t even have a girlfriend in front of his grandmother.
Last night, he pretended to be nice in front of Adrian, and today, Stella felt disgusted. Was he keeping her in the company and in
this town just so she could witness the relationship between him and Sophia? Was this like six years ago?
Six years ago, she had been a fool. She had married this man, thinking that sooner or later, he would fall in love with her. But
now, six years later...
“RK, these are the documents you asked for,” Stella put them on her desk. “If there’s nothing else, I’m leaving.”
Stella did her best not to look at Sophia. Her upper body, apart from her bra, was all cinched up around her waist.
The two of them must have been very intimate right now. Sophia wasn’t looking at her properly; she was looking at her as if she
knew Stella was coming into the office and had deliberately disturbed them.
Stella avoided looking at Sophia. She didn’t want to see the smug expression on her face, knowing full well what had just
happened in the office. Stella didn’t wait for RK’s response.
She left the documents on her desk and turned to leave, anxious to get out of there. She didn’t want to stay there for a minute.
“Wait...” The man’s voice called from behind her. It was sharp, almost as if he was scolding her. His voice was strong and
gravelly. As soon as he finished speaking, it was like an order given by a king! No one dared to disobey him.
Stella stopped dead in her tracks. “Mr. Kingston, is there anything else?” she asked coldly, without turning around.
She didn’t want to look at the two people behind her. She felt distressed, uncomfortable, and aggrieved. She felt as if someone
had played a cruel joke on her last night. It was clear he had a fiancée, why did he get involved with her?
Why did he keep saying those ambiguous words, making her misunderstand him? Did he enjoy seeing her deceived?
“Miss Richard, bring me a cup of coffee in five minutes.” His voice was serene as always. Anyone hearing it would think it was
just a boss giving orders to his employee, nothing more, nothing like last night.
God only knew how much he wanted to disappear right there. I wanted to disappear completely from the RK Group and X City,
because the feeling of being ordered around like that was unbearable.
He frowned and replied coldly, “Understood.” And he slammed the door shut with a loud bang. This damn man! He was a cheat.
He had a fiancée, but he still interfered in her life from time to time and said those ambiguous words!
This man was a bastard! Last night, she kindly bought him medicine and washed his pants.... She was stupid. She should have
let this stinking man leave with his injured hand. It was better if his hand got infected.
Then he wouldn’t have the strength to hold a woman!
Stella stormed into the pantry. At first, she didn’t want to make coffee for the insufferable man, but it was still office hours and,
unfortunately, he was her boss. As much as she despised him, she had to follow his orders. I had no choice but to make him
coffee.
Just as she was about to take the coffee to the president’s office, she noticed an employee in the office eating breakfast. Stella
borrowed a bag of chili paste from the other party and mischievously poured the entire bag into the coffee.
