Love After Divorce by BELLA

Chapter 39

Chapter 39:.
The more Stella thought about it, the angrier she became. This man had gone out of his way to make others misunderstand their
relationship over and over again. With his actions, how could people not get the wrong idea?
“I have my own plans for Grandma. You have nothing to worry about,” RK replied coldly. He spoke as if everything was under his
control, as if everyone around him were mere chess pieces moving according to his will.
“Mr. Kingston, I have already told you that you have no business meddling in my grandmother’s affairs.
Now that I’m back in the country, I’ll take care of her,” Stella stated firmly. He had made it clear that Grace was her grandmother,
not his. Why was this man acting as if Grace was also his grandmother? Did he think it was fun to fool an old woman over and
over again?
“Should I be around grandma or not? Don’t you think you should ask her first?” said RK confidently. From the way he spoke, it
seemed that his grandmother had already recognized him as her grandson-in-law.
But what could he do? It was true that his grandmother liked and even trusted him more than Stella.
However, Stella could not blame her grandmother. Over the years, when she was away, RK had always cared for her
grandmother and taken responsibility for her.
Over time, he became the person Grace depended on, so it was only natural that she would rely on him so much. But Stella also
knew that the more her grandmother trusted him, the more hurt she would be in the end. Their marriage had already failed; it
was hopelessly broken.
It was understandable that Grace would make mistakes because she didn’t know the truth about their relationship. But what
about this man-why did he keep approaching her grandmother over and over again?
He even had the audacity to suggest that she ask Grace if she agreed. And if Grace didn’t agree, wasn’t it all this man’s fault?
“Rene Kingston, I hate you for cheating on my grandmother over and over again,” Stella lashed out, overcome with anger. How
could this man betray her grandmother’s trust?
Now, when Stella tried to explain that RK had a fiancée and wanted to clear everything up, her grandmother refused to believe
her, trusting RK’s lies instead. This bastard had gone too far!

RK raised an eyebrow, looking at her with a cold expression. “This conversation is over. I don’t want to discuss it any further.”

With that, the driver, who had been standing behind Stella, pushed her into the car like a prisoner. The car door slammed shut
and RK didn’t even look at her.
Stella was very angry. This man was so rude. He was even forcing himself on people when he was giving her back. The silence
in the car was deafening. With the window closed, only the sound of breathing could be heard.
Stella sat awkwardly in the corner, her movements minimal. Although RK was sitting next to her and saying nothing, the tension
made her feel as if the whole world had fallen silent.
Being with him seemed to stifle her behavior, making her too uncomfortable to do anything.

The Rolls Royce drove down the street for a long time. When they passed a 24-hour drugstore, the driver looked back and
asked, “Mr. Kingston, your hand is hurt. Would you like to buy some medicine to treat it?”
Stella heard the driver’s words and looked at RK’s right hand resting in her lap. Only then did she remember that if he hadn’t
broken her fall, she would have been the one injured on the stairs.
As infuriating as that man was for cheating on her grandmother, Stella couldn’t ignore the fact that he had saved her.
“Stop the car. I’ll go get the medicine for Mr. Kingston,” he said. The driver listened to her words and stopped the car by the
roadside. Stella got out, went to the pharmacy and bought a bottle of medicine along with some cotton swabs.
“Help me apply the medicine,” RK demanded when he returned to the car. There was no hesitation in her voice, no room for
refusal. Why would she help him apply the medicine? The president was too rude. Did she say she would help him apply the
medicine? She dryly bought the medicine as thanks for saving her. But what happened in the end? This man was so arrogant
and presumptuous.
Did he think he could do anything? Did he think he could casually touch a girl’s thigh? Did she let him? He was nothing but a
bastard!
Stella screamed when RK pinched her leg just as he was about to give her the medicine.

The pain was sharp, and since she didn’t respond immediately, he increased the pressure. “Rene Kingston, I don’t think your
hand is hurt. You look pretty strong,” Stella muttered angrily as she rubbed her leg.
She felt she had been too kind by buying medicine for the man and even applying it to the back of his hand. He did not thank her,
but instead pinched her leg. What a shameless thing to do.
But the man sitting next to him completely ignored her words. His large hand remained on her leg and stroked it twice. The
arrogant man seemed to say to her, “Hurry up! Apply the medicine for your savior.”
Stella gritted her teeth in frustration. She had known many shameless men, but none as shameless as he was! How dare he be
rude to her after all she had been through?
Stella was sure she must owe this man something in her previous life; that was why, in this one, she let herself be bossed
around by him all the time.
Reluctantly, she took the medicine bottle out of the bag and forced herself to apply it. When the pain in her leg subsided, she
realized that the man’s hand was still on her. Try as she might to move, she still felt uncomfortable.
However, on second thought, she realized that maybe she was thinking too much. Maybe this man didn’t care about other
thoughts at all.
Stella took the cotton swab soaked in medicine and applied it to the back of her hand. Only then did she realize the severity of
the wound: the skin on the back of her hand was almost completely scraped off, leaving a large raw wound. He cleaned it
carefully with alcohol to avoid infection.
For a moment, the car was silent. His hand rested on her leg and she concentrated on applying the medicine, with gentle,
precise movements.
For some reason, that moment was very warm. The dim yellow light from inside the car cast a soft glow on them, adding to the
warmth.
When she leaned on his strong arm to dress his wound, a moment of strange intimacy was created. After helping him clean the

blood stains from the back of his right hand, Stella sterilized everything.
Then she picked up the cotton swab again and helped him apply the medicine. Suddenly, the car came to a screeching halt as it
rounded a corner. The bottle of red medicine Stella was holding tipped over, spilling onto her pants.

For the second time that day, he had managed to stain her clothes. First it was at the hospital, and now... suddenly, Stella felt a
heavy burden of guilt in her heart. She knew she hadn’t done it on purpose. “I’m sorry,” Stella stammered, straightening up and
sitting down stiffly.
The driver in front was also quick to apologize. “Mr. Kingston, I’m sorry. A cat suddenly appeared in front of the car as I turned
the corner, so I had to slam on the brakes.”
“A handkerchief,” RK interrupted coldly. The driver quickly grabbed the handkerchief from the front and handed it back to him. Of
course, RK didn’t take the handkerchief, so it was Stella who took them.
Stella awkwardly picked up the pieces of handkerchief and began to wipe his pants. Luckily, he was wearing black; otherwise,
the stain would have been much more noticeable.
Stella grabbed his pants with one hand and wiped them stiffly with the other. Still, half the bottle had spilled, soaking much of his
pants.
Moreover, when the driver pulled the brake, Stella’s upper body leaned over him, so it was natural for the medicine in his hand to
fall on him.
Suddenly, Stella’s hands were grasped by his large palms. He looked at her and said coldly, “Why are you doing it so slowly? By
the time you’re done, my pants will be dry.”
Stella was speechless. Embarrassed, she looked at RK. That bastard! Hooligan! Shameless! He knew very well that it was
inconvenient for a woman to clean that area, but why was he still reminding her?
Stella blushed and quickly lowered her head. She didn’t dare look him in the eye; she was afraid he would notice that her face
was as red as an apple. “It’s dirty anyway. I’ll wash it for you later.” She couldn’t afford to lose a year’s salary for that pair of
pants.
Nor did she dare to clean that area at random. It was dirty, and he would wash the man’s pants when he got home. RK didn’t
refuse; he simply kept silent. The Rolls Royce continued its journey, and soon they arrived at Stella’s house. It was early in the
morning.
When Stella got out of the car, RK didn’t hesitate to follow her. She had said she would wash his pants, so he was taking her up
on her offer. There was nothing she could do about it. She had said those words.

Besides, she was the one who had stained that man’s pants. She had to take him inside, even if it was night.
It was the first time RK had been to his house since returning to the country. Upon entering, RK took a look at the layout of the
house.
There were three bedrooms and a living room. One of the bedrooms was a child’s bedroom, but since it was dark and the lights
were off, he couldn’t see it clearly. He could only make out several cartoon characters on the bedroom door.
“What...”
“Um...” Stella stood awkwardly in front of him, unsure of what to say next. She expected him to take off his pants so she could
wash them, but RK seemed more interested in watching the house than handing her his clothes.
They stood there, facing each other, for a full minute. Finally, Stella swallowed hard and blurted out, “You...your pants...”.
