Love After Divorce by BELLA

Chapter 28

Chapter 28:.
**Take care of the rest of your life.
RK uttered those words casually, but they carried a weight that hinted at a deeper meaning. It was a casual remark, but when
Stella looked into his deep blue eyes, she couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something hidden behind them.
When she met his gaze, he was already conversing with Tristan, but his eyes remained fixed on her and did not move. And his
eyes... she could never tell what lurked in those blue depths.
Stella rolled her eyes and said, “Why are you looking at me like that – do I have something on my face?”
What a rude behavior...
Tristan let go of her wrist, however, and smiled faintly, though the smile didn’t reach his eyes. “Stella and I grew up together. We
even used to bathe together. Of course, we have a good relationship.” His words surprised Stella.
Her face turned red with embarrassment.
But this man had such thick skin, as if he was discussing something as ordinary as the weather. And what’s more... did they ever
bathe together? Why didn’t he remember any of it? Was it when they were babies?
Did David think it was okay because they were children then?
If not, why couldn’t she remember such a thing? Stella hadn’t seen this man in nine years, yet he was talking nonsense.
Stella lowered her head, still busy figuring out when the supposed bath with that shameless man had occurred. She was still
deep in thought when someone kicked her leg from under the table.
It was so painful that she couldn’t help but cry out in pain. Stella lowered her head to see who it was and noticed a polished black
leather shoe being quickly removed.
This damned man- Stella cursed him angrily. Couldn’t he sit down properly? Was he doing this on purpose? She had no respect
for him?
“Stella, are you okay?” Tristan asked, his voice full of concern.

Stella looked at the culprit, but he was calmly sipping his wine, with a natural, unperturbed demeanor, as if it wasn’t him who had
just kicked her.
He shook his head. “It’s nothing,” she muttered. She knew that even if she told the truth, no one would believe her.
Who would have thought that the president of such a large company would do such a thing? Her behavior was totally childish.
What could she say, that she had been unlucky and had been kicked under the table for no reason? Yes, it was for no reason...
He had kicked her so hard it was painful. She didn’t know if this man was doing all this on purpose or not.
After dinner, Stella stayed with the Richard family for a while, but soon received a message from Adrian. The message told her
that he was worried about her.
It sounded as if he thought if he stayed there any longer, they would do something bad to him.
He was only five years old and hadn’t learned many words; his vocabulary was limited, so he had sent her a few voice
messages.
Stella clicked one and held the phone to her ear, but just then, a servant brushed past her, causing the volume to suddenly
increase. It was loud enough for everyone to hear her.....

The childish voice sounded loud enough for all to hear. “When are you coming back? I’ll wait for your answer for ten minutes,
and if you still don’t answer, I’ll call 100. The police will come and save you immediately.”
Suddenly, the entire room fell silent. Although the atmosphere had been rather quiet, everyone’s ears pricked up when they
heard someone speak in a loud voice. “Stella! Who is that child?” wondered David.
Where was that childish voice coming from?
Everyone’s eyes turned in Stella’s direction. Even RK, who had been talking business with David, stopped and looked at her.
But this time, Stella was not as anxious as before. RK had already met Adrian and discovered the truth. So, unlike before, she
calmly replied, “He’s a friend’s nephew. We’re just chatting.”
“Ohhh,” David said, accepting the explanation without much thought. Anyway, who would suspect she had a five-year-old son?

When she divorced RK, no one knew she was pregnant except RK. But as far as he was concerned, she had already aborted
the child long ago....
So Stella didn’t have much to worry about. After spending some time with the Richard family, Stella began to worry that Adrian
might miss her too much. She decided to leave before it was too late.
He feared that otherwise he would not be able to leave until dawn. When Stella decided to leave, RK also grabbed his car keys
and got up. “I’ll drive Miss Richard home,” he said.
“Miss Richard? How many times had she changed?” From her grandmother to the Richard family, she’d used so many different
titles for her.....
Before Stella could say anything, Sophia took the floor. “RK, you don’t have to bother. We have drivers at home. Let one of them
drive her.”
But RK adjusted his suit and looked at Sophia, his tone serious. “It’s no problem at all. He’s on his way.” Stella looked at him in
surprise.On her way?
When he took her from the Moon Hotel to his home, was he on his way? From the hospital to his home, was he on his way? And
now, from Richard’s family to her home.... was he again... on his way?
Where exactly did he live, did he live on a road where every time he was on his way? In any case, Stella didn’t want to go with
him. She dreaded the thought of being alone with him in the car.
Then Stella looked at him and said, “Don’t bother. The station is not far. I can go back by myself.”
“Stella, let me send you back,” Tristan, who had been silent for a while, finally spoke. His voice was warm and soft.
Like Sophia, Tristan was also reluctant to leave her alone with RK. Although Stella had a good impression of Tristan, she didn’t
want to go with him either. “It’s okay, I’ll go alone,” she insisted.
After grabbing her purse, Stella left the Richard family home. But she hadn’t gone far when she heard footsteps behind her.
Stella looked back and saw that RK was following her too. What was this man doing. Why was he following her.Why couldn’t he
just let her go? They were divorced, and he was soon to be married. Why did he keep doing this...making people gossip and
misunderstand?

“RK, I’m not done talking about the investment with you yet. Let’s go back inside,” Sophia yelled at him, trying to dissuade him.
After that, Stella didn’t see anyone else following her. She was relieved as she walked away from the Richard family home.
Stella didn’t know if she had made the right decision to return from France or not. She had just run into RK and Tristan, and
those things could happen again.
After Sophia got married, it was inevitable that she would have to see them together at Richard family gatherings.
At that moment, Stella just wanted to run away.

She wanted to go back to France and leave the country with Adrian so that she would never have to see that man again in the
future. At least this way, she would not be able to have any thoughts about him.
In fact, the station was quite far from the Richard family home, but Stella had said so only because she wanted to leave as soon
as possible. As she walked, she began to feel a familiar pain in her stomach.
His stomach ached again. Maybe it was because he had been drinking alcohol. His stomach had always reacted like this since
he was young. Every time he drank something cold or drank some alcohol, his stomach started to feel uncomfortable....
“Stella,” she heard her name called from behind her. As she turned around, she saw a black SUV pulling up beside her.
The car window rolled down and Tristan’s handsome face appeared. He was a very kind and warm man. But he was now in his
thirties. Time had made him more mature and serene.
Stella pulled over and Tristan parked the car. When he got out, she noticed that he was carrying a box of medicine and a
thermos in his hand.
“Does your stomach hurt again?” he asked, resting his eyes on the hand she had placed on her abdomen.
As soon as he left the Richard family, his stomach began to hurt again. It was as if his stomach was under his control.....
“It’s nothing, just an old problem,” Stella replied quietly.
He sighed, his voice warm but tinged with helplessness. “Take this medicine and get in the car. I’ll take you home.”

He poured some water from the thermos into a cup and handed her the medicine. His hands were elegant, his fingers long and
slender. If he were not a doctor, one might mistake those hands for those of a pianist rather than a surgeon.
Stella took the medicine from him and murmured, “Thank you, Brother Tristan.” But before she could finish, she surprised
herself. A second ago, he had been like a loving brother, but now he had made her swallow his words.
He corrected himself awkwardly. “Thank you... Tristan.”
“Good girl,” Tristan said, apparently in a good mood, as he patted her on the head, as he used to do when she was still young
and preparing for college exams. He had encouraged her countless times, telling her, “Stella, don’t stress. The questions will be
manageable if you
you follow the methods I taught you. Even if things go wrong and you don’t pass, it’s okay. I will take care of you for the rest of
your life.”
Only now did Stella understand that when he said, “I will take care of you for the rest of your life,” he meant it literally.
After Stella drank the medicine, Tristan took the cup from her and closed the thermos tightly. If someone didn’t know better, she
might have thought he was her servant, taking care of such trivial things for her.
“Brother... Tristan,” Stella began, but she couldn’t bring herself to stop saying “brother.” Addressing him simply as “Tristan” was
too ambiguous.
Ignoring whether he was angry or not, he continued, “Brother Tristan, I hope you won’t follow me in the future.... Because it
would only be a waste of time.
You can find someone more beautiful or suitable for you instead of a woman like me, who is not very exceptional, has a
mediocre appearance, a mediocre career, is divorced and even has a child.”
He was a famous and skilled physician. Indeed, they were not right for each other.
Stella looked at him and continued, “And brother Tristan, I still like you... but only as a brother. So... I can’t accept this
relationship. I hope you won’t forget me.” She couldn’t and wouldn’t accept it.
In the eyes of outsiders, this kind of relationship was neither good nor bad, but how could there be a relationship between a
brother and sister?

Even if they were not biological siblings and had no blood relationship, it was still something decided by name?
