Love After Divorce by BELLA

Chapter 21

Chapter 21:.
“Doctor, how is my grandmother?” asked Stella, in a worried voice.
“Miss Richard, don’t worry. Your grandmother is much better now. Her condition is much improved compared to two years ago.
When she first came to the hospital, she couldn’t even move on her own,” the doctor explained as he handed her some reports.
“But it’s all thanks to the man who has been taking care of her. He has provided her with the best medical care available.”
After hearing the doctor’s words, Stella wanted to meet that man so she could thank him personally for taking care of her
grandmother all these years. “Doctor, who is this man who takes care of my grandmother?”.
“Miss Richard, that person told us to keep her identity a secret. I hope Miss Richard will not make things difficult for our hospital.
If you want to know, you can ask her grandmother. Maybe she knows...”
Stella heard this and nodded. All these years, when Stella was in France and wanted to go back, her grandmother wouldn’t let
her return.
Only now did she know why she did it..... Her grandmother didn’t want her to worry about her.
“Grandma...” Stella gently opened the door and knocked.
Grace Harris looked up and immediately smiled at the sight of her granddaughter. “Ah, dear, you’re back! Come here quick, let
Grandma see you.”
“I want to know how beautiful my granddaughter has grown...”
“Grandma, as soon as I come back you start making fun of me?”.
But he still came over and sat down next to her bed.
“Who said I was kidding? I’m serious...”
Grace looked Stella up and down and said, “Don’t lose confidence in yourself. You are the most beautiful person in the world.”
Stella said nothing. Anyway, to all parents, their child was the best in the world. After his mother was gone, Grace was like his
mother, too.

Grace didn’t hold back and continued, “I’ve been keeping track of your age.... You just turned 28 this year, right?”.

Stella blushed slightly, feeling a twinge of embarrassment. When she married RK, she was only 19. When she divorced, she was
22, and after leaving the country for six years.... She was now 28.
Six years. Stella sighed. Time had flown by...
In Emily’s words: “You wasted all your beautiful youth loving a cold and heartless man. But he gave you nothing in return....
Except a son. After that, you spent your life caring for him.”
But Stella didn’t care. Maybe because she had been single for so many years, she felt she didn’t need any man in her life?
Adrian was enough for her. He was everything to her, and she felt it wasn’t wrong to spend her whole life with him.
It seemed to her that this kind of life wasn’t bad at all. But Grace didn’t see it that way. She was worried about her and said,
“Stella, you’re not getting any younger. You’ll be 30 in two years. Do you have a boyfriend?
If not, I can introduce you to someone.”
Stella listened to her grandmother’s words and sighed. She didn’t care about her love life, but her grandmother was always
worried about her. Stella’s grandmother always cared for her like a daughter, so as soon as she came back, Grace began to
worry about her marriage....
“Grandma, don’t worry about me. I am fine. I just want you to be healthy and live a happy life.” Stella held her hands and said,
“How can that be?”
Stella thought so, but Grace didn’t think so.
Grace shook her head. “You can’t think like that, Stella. You can’t be single all your life. You need someone to take care of you.
The man I want to introduce you to is very good. He’s handsome, rich and nice.”
Stella’s lips twitched at her grandmother’s description. She didn’t believe there was a man with all those qualities.
Moreover, even if she found a man, she would only choose someone who would accept Adrian wholeheartedly and be good to
him. Other things did not matter to her.
Since she was divorced and had a child, all the men she met on blind dates were also divorced and had a child like her. Because
of this, Stella was still single.

“Grandma, you know I already have Adrian, how can someone like him like me?”
“You must have confidence in yourself.”

Grace sensed Stella’s hesitation and added, “I’ll introduce you to this man. He’s also divorced and has a daughter. He’s the one
who’s been taking care of me in the hospital all these years and comes to see me twice a week.
He is also the one who pays all my medical expenses. I know he will be good for you. What a good boy.
After hearing her grandmother’s words, Stella didn’t know what to say.
Stella was surprised by her grandmother’s revelation and didn’t know how to rebut it. She didn’t expect that the man was also
divorced and had a daughter.
But Stella didn’t think too much about this. All that mattered to her was that the man had taken care of her grandmother for six
years.
So he didn’t think too much about her identity and said, “Okay.” Stella finally agreed, in a soft voice. “Ask him to come to the
hospital. Then I can thank him personally and also pay him back the money he spent on my grandmother.”
Stella thought to herself.
Grace listened to Stella’s words and was overjoyed. She loved her granddaughter and held in high esteem the man she wanted
to introduce to her. After giving him her hand, she could rest easy and die in peace.
Grace looked at her and said, “That’s wonderful! And it just so happens that today is Friday. Rene usually comes to visit me on
Fridays.”
Stella’s heart skipped a beat when she heard the name, but she immediately dismissed the idea. How could it be that man?
They had similar names. His name was also René...
Stella looked at her grandmother and said, “Okay.”
“One more thing,” Grace added, “Bring Adrian with you later. I haven’t told Rene about him yet, but let them get to know each
other first. After that, we’ll let Adrian decide if he likes him and wants him to be his stepfather...”

Stella looked at her grandmother in confusion. Stella! Rene! She felt her grandmother was taking it too seriously.
But Stella didn’t want to ruin her grandmother’s good mood, so she called Emily and asked her to pick Adrian up from school and
take him to the hospital.
Despite her grandmother’s optimism, Stella was not so hopeful.
All of her blind dates had been arranged by Emily in the past. When the men found out she had a child, they all left. This time
was to be no exception. She didn’t care...
