Living With My Lady Boss by Blue Silver

Chapter 2885

Chapter 2892
He lacked patience, so he chose to attack randomly, unleashing energy strikes across various parts of the water's surface. He
created numerous splashes, but the black energy bead was never blasted out of the water. He was eliminated for exceeding the
ten-minute limit as a result.
The third contestant took notice of the first and second contestants' experiences. He stood there and observed for two minutes to
figure out the route of the black energy bead. Then, he started to unleash energy strikes. He successfully completed the test on
the eight and a half minutes mark at the end.
Subsequently, the other cultivators followed the example of the first and third participants. Among them, five managed to record
their times, while the rest were eliminated.
The next participants with the numbers seventeen, eighteen, and nineteen, were two spirit curse cultivators and one talisman

cultivator. Unlike the previous contestants, they did not follow their method. Instead, they used their spirit curses and talismans to
successfully lock onto the black energy bead's position, completing the challenge within five minutes.
Lastly, it was Wilbur's turn. Wilbur quietly looked at the water's surface. The black energy bead kept darting around underwater,
but as a dragon clan cultivator, he could clearly sense its exact location. Therefore, all Wilbur had to do was act swiftly, and he
could certainly blast the black energy bead out of the water within a minute and complete the task.
However, Wilbur did not take that approach. He followed the method of previous cultivators instead, continuously observing the
black energy bead's movement and attacking the water surface accordingly. He successfully completed the challenge in seven
and a half minutes.
Ten participants, including Wilbur, had passed the competition at the end of the test. Herbert approached Wilbur from behind as
they left the venue. He asked, "Mister Penn, would you care for a drink?"
Wilbur looked back at Herbert and replied, "You treated me to a glass of beer yesterday, so it's my treat today."
Herbert showed a look of resignation, shrugged his shoulders, and nodded. He then led Wilbur to a tavern.
Wilbur raised his glass at the tavern and said, "Cheers, Mister Herbert."
"Cheers."

Herbert and Wilbur clinked their glasses together and then tipped them back to drink.
Putting down his glass, Wilbur said, "Mister Herbert, if you've come here to discuss withdrawing from the competition, I don't
think we need to talk any further. You can leave if that's the case."
"No, I actually came to tell you something, Mister Penn. Do you know why the Dimensional Guardian Servant Tournament is held
every ten thousand years and why this time it was advanced by two thousand years?" asked Herbert.
"I don't know. Do you?" asked Wilbur.
"Yeah, that's right. I do know," replied Herbert.
Herbert said, "As far as I know, each dimensional guardian can only have one servant, and every ten thousand years, a new
servant is selected because the previous one has died. Serving a dimensional guardian comes with inevitable dangers, after all.
While the dimensional guardians possess immense power, their servants might not be as strong. They could meet their end
when facing danger. That's why the Dimensional Guardian Servant Tournament is held every ten thousand years."
"Uhm..."
Wilbur frowned because he thought that becoming a servant of a dimensional guardian would grant near-immortality, but hearing
Herbert's explanation, it seems that being a servant actually comes with increased risks. Traveling through dimensions would be
allowed, but there was still the possibility of dying in battle.
