How the Ice King Became my Doting Billionaire Husband

Chapter 462

Chapter 462
Matthew had a point, Phineas had to admit. If it weren't for the recent upheaval, he might not have realized until after Norbert's
passing that the shares would fall into Morwenna's hands.
Right now, the main goal was to find someone. There was no need to get entangled with Matthew.
"Bring Lorna out," Phineas instructed.
Matthew, all smiles, said, "By the way, how is Norbert Hetfield? My grandfather sent me to check on him."
"My father is fine, no need for your concern."
"Come on, Phineas," Matthew teased. "Everyone in Rosefrost Hollow knows

about Norbert Hetfield's will. If you don't let me see him, my grandfather will think something's wrong. Old folks love to gossip,
and if Norbert is in trouble, Morwenna will surely secure those shares."
Phineas suppressed the urge to have Matthew thrown out. But with the urgency of finding Morwenna, he didn't want to waste
time bickering.
Matthew was slightly on edge, too. Bringing a crowd might make negotiations difficult, but coming alone felt risky, like inviting a
beating.
Reluctantly, Phineas conceded. "Fine, let's go. I'll take you to see Norbert."
There were two critical priorities: Norbert mustn't die, and Morwenna had to be found. Phineas couldn't allow anything to happen
to either of them, so he decided to accompany Matthew personally.
Matthew didn't protest and quickly followed.
Inside Norbert's room, Matthew saw the frail figure lying in bed, reduced to skin and bones. Norbert was hooked up to various
machines, with IV drips of unknown substances that were either nutrients or medication, creating an unsettling sight. Matthew
glanced at the heart monitor, sighing with relief when he saw the faint but steady heartbeat. Norbert was still alive, and that was
all that mattered.
Phineas, standing guard, kept Matthew from getting too close. "Seen enough?" he snapped. "Then leave and let Norbert rest."

Matthew almost rolled his eyes. Rest? This was clearly a coma!
"I've seen enough," Matthew said. "Pass along my regards to Norbert."
Phineas's eye twitched, his patience wearing thin.
As they descended the stairs, Lorna was brought out. She had dark circles under her eyes, as if she hadn't slept in days.
Oblivious to Matthew's presence, she grumbled, "Why am I here? You haven't done anything to Morwenna, right?"
Thinking of Morwenna made Lorna anxious. She wanted to help but felt utterly powerless. She'd been cooped up playing video
games for days, to the point of nausea. The gaming addiction she'd longed to break might finally be cured after this ordeal.
With a polite smile, Phineas said, "Ms. Lamont, I apologize for the previous misunderstandings. The Lamont and Hetfield families
have always had a good relationship. You're free to leave."
Lorna's eyes widened, her dark circles even more pronounced. "Are you serious? I can go? What about Morwenna? I want to
leave with her."
