How the Ice King Became my Doting Billionaire Husband

Chapter 460

Chapter 460
"What did you say?"
"That's how it is, Stuart. You'll have to handle this yourself. I'm neither a part of the Hetfield family nor connected to Morwenna. I
can't help you."
Edmund approached with a silver needle in hand, catching part of their
conversation and rolling his eyes. "Why so negative? As long as I'm here, even if you're crippled, you won't die."
Fletcher couldn't help but think, *Is that supposed to be comforting? It sounds more like an insult.*
Just then, Jack suddenly shouted in excitement, rushing over with his phone. "I've got a signal! I received a message from our
team outside!"
For a soldier like Jack, showing such obvious delight was a rare sight.
They had set up plenty of satellite internet equipment and signal boosters around the perimeter. The phone had been silent for
days, but while they were setting up camp, it suddenly rang.

Jack quickly contacted the team outside, explained their situation, and got their coordinates.
"We're not too far from getting out," Jack said, his voice quick with excitement. "With the coordinates, we won't lose our way, and
it won't be long before we're out."
"Can we push through the night now that we have a path?" Stuart, thinking about Fletcher's earlier words, was eager to return as
soon as possible.
Jack shook his head. "No, it's too dangerous at night. Just because we know the way doesn't mean it's safe. We can't risk
everyone's safety for a bit of time."
Stuart understood; safety couldn't be compromised no matter how urgent things seemed.
Everyone was buzzing with excitement, except for Edmund, who remained indifferent. Life and death held little distinction for the
old man.

During the conversation, Edmund had already turned Stuart into a human pincushion with his needles.
After a moment of silence, Stuart asked, "Can you find out how Norbert is doing?"
Jack's phone buzzed with incoming messages as he relayed their situation to the outside.
As Jack read the messages, his expression shifted from hopeful to grim.

Noticing Jack's darkened expression, Fletcher leaned over to read and his face fell as well.
Stuart, unable to move due to the needles, frowned. "What's wrong? Did something happen to Norbert?"
They had gone through so much trouble to find Edmund. If something had already happened to Norbert, all their efforts would
have been in vain.
Jack nudged Fletcher, signaling him to speak.
Fletcher, looking conflicted, said, "Norbert's condition isn't good. He's reportedly unconscious, his body functions are shutting
down, and he's hanging by a thread."
Stuart exhaled slightly, "As long as he's still hanging on."
Fletcher hesitated before adding, "It's Morwenna who's in trouble."
Stuart's gaze snapped to Fletcher.
Fletcher handed his phone to Stuart, showing him the live broadcasts and news reports, highlighting Morwenna's lifeless eyes.
Jack spoke up hesitantly, trying to defend Matthew and Brian. "Stuart, Matthew and Brian... they might have acted rashly, but
they're working on fixing it."
Fletcher added, "Morwenna used your computer to send that waiver to Phineas. To them, it felt like she betrayed you, and that's
why they did what they did. Now that Attorney Wesley has stepped in, those two are already protecting Morwenna."
Stuart remained silent.
Once the acupuncture was done and the medicine taken, Stuart closed his eyes to rest.

Jack and Fletcher exchanged a worried glance, both feeling uneasy about what lay ahead.
