Sleepless all night. Deborah would think of Elvis‘ and Nola’s intimate and warm smiles in the car when she closed her eyes, like
long needles piercing her heart.
Nola could stay with Elvis, embraced by his attention and love. What about her? Deborah had been silently by Elvis‘ side. Who
was she?
She didn’t think their shady relationship would last long.
Although Nola was the daughter of Myles of Grayson Group, so what? She was the least popular one. Deborah heard that the
Lee family broke off the engagement, and Nola’s younger sister stole her fiancé. Things were bad between the Grant family and
Nola. She couldn’t stay in Apex Group any longer, so she came to Grayson Group, right?
Nola also had a crazy mother. The Grayson family’s elders would not accept such a woman with a complicated family
background. She was not worthy of the perfect Elvis.
Nola was not good enough for Elvis at all!
Everyone was still amazed at what had happened yesterday. Before they could come back to their senses, they saw Nola getting
out of Elvis‘ car the next morning, and Elvis opened the door for her and told her to wear a coat and not to catch a
Everything they had seen and heard was even colder than the first gust of cold wind on this cold winter morning.
Everyone couldn’t believe their eyes a 1742 north
even felt they had not woken from dreaming.
Nola still worked hard as usual and did her job, but she no longer hid the fact that she was with Elvis. In the past few days, she
had understood that she did not need to hide anything.

Everyone thought Nola would be arrogant with Elvis as a backer, but she was still the same as before. She even served coffee to
Deborah without putting on airs. Everyone was confused.
Before, they said Elvis and Nola lived in secret, but now they did things aboveboard. Wasn’t it clear that they were together?
Claire asked Nola curiously, “Nola, what is your relationship with Mr. Grayson? We have been confused in the past few days.”
Nola didn’t say it directly because she was afraid that they wouldn’t believe it if she said it.
“It’s what you’ve seen.”

**
It was so obvious. Did Nola need to say anything else? Nola had told the truth. As for what they thought, it was their own
business.
Claire didn’t say anything but gave Nola a thumbs up. Before leaving, she thought about something and said, “Good luck!”
Everyone in this office knew Deborah’s thoughts, and now Elvis and Nola put the relationship on the table. Presumably, Deborah
would not let Nola live a relaxed life.
When Deborah came to the company, she heard the new thing that the person who had been driving Nola back and forth to work
was the company’s president, Elvis.
But Nola once said that Elvis was not her boyfriend.
Deborah suddenly felt a little sick looking at the coffee on her desk. The seemingly smart Nola was something else. Nola could
get close to Elvis and easily gain his favor.
If it weren’t for Elvis, Deborah might appreciate Nola.

However, it was different now. Deborah would never keep Nola, who got skills, by her side.
Deborah also wanted to see how long Nola could stay by Elvis‘ side.

“Ask Nola to come in.”
Sitting in her chair, Deborah felt condescending as the director. She was the boss here. Nola must obey Deborah in the design
department regardless of her status.
Nola walked in, thinking she had problems with her job, and waited humbly to listen to Deborah’s teachings.
In the office, Nola and Deborah looked at each other. Nola saw the sparkle in Deborah’s eyes, which were even full of hostility.
Was it because of Elvis?
Nola thought Deborah was a woman who kept things professional.
“You made the herbal tea?”
“Yes!”
“Not anymore. I’ll drink coffee instead.” Nola didn’t say much and agreed with Deborah without any rebuttal. Deborah waited for
Nola to ask herself, but she didn’t, which made Deborah unpleasant.

The office fell into a deathly silence, with only their breathing heard. Nola was stubborn in her bones and humble in doing things,

making it difficult for Deborah to make a move. Deborah had never met such a person.
“Miss Garcia, I’ll return to work if there is nothing else. Please find me anytime if you need anything.”
“Wait a minute!” Unwilling, Deborah stopped her subconsciously. Seeing Nola looking at her, Deborah paused, then asked,
“What’s the relationship between you and Mr. Grayson? Did you join the company because of him?”
Nola raised her eyebrows slightly. She thought Deborah was professional, but now it seemed all people would become
emotionally involved in the business.
Smiling gracefully, Nola said calmly, “Is there any necessary connection between this question and my work?”
“What if you must answer?”

“Miss Garcia, are you asking about my private life as my supervisor or as a colleague? It happened before. You seem to be
particularly interested in my private life.”
“You just need to answer me. Yes or no?”
“If you asked me as a friend or a colleague, I would refuse to answer. If you asked me as a boss, I don’t think my relationship
with Mr. Grayson would affect my work. I’m just your intern assistant, and I haven’t passed the trial period. Isn’t it?”
She was eloquent, which was Deborah’s second impression of Nola. She was smart and eloquent. Was it because of this that
she could handle Elvis with ease?
Deborah didn’t answer. Nola smiled lightly and turned it around, “You have liked Elvis for a long time.”
She was sure, and it was a statement.
As if she had been caught out, Deborah felt a little embarrassed. Not wanting to be laughed at, Deborah pretended to be
calm.
“You haven’t answered my question yet.”

“You want to know our relationship so much. Why don’t you ask Elvis yourself but come to me instead? It’s working hours now,
and you are my boss. I hope you can put the work first. I believe you’re the person who keeps things profesional Nola was
reminding her that it would be of no benefit to anyone if Deborah deliberately made things difficult.
Nola had never been afraid of difficulties but hated these inexplicable difficulties.

“You seem to think too highly of me. Do you think Elvis will give me trouble if I deliberately make things difficult for you and
prevent you from passing the probationary period? I want to see how important you are to him.”
“Then just give it a try! I also want to know how I will handle the difficulties from you.”
Deborah still couldn’t get the answer she wanted, but Nola’s provocative smile made her lose confidence. “Does Elvis really like
her?” thought Deborah.
