Nola smiled and said, “I believe that even the most common clothes can’t hide the glamour of these beautiful ladies. Mr. Hadley
has always been noble and honest. He cares about the citizens‘ well–being, not his own benefits. His wife, Mrs. Hadley, is the
same. Whoever said those words were trying to defame Mr. and Mrs. Hadley’s reputation. Do you know how horrible it can be to
slander a governmental official’s reputation?”
Nola got straight to the point sharply. She wanted to make that person scare and shut up.

People in business would never want to offend officials, let alone a mayor. No one wanted to be criticized in public.
But for Mr. Hadley, his reputation was his most precious wealth. Nola must defend it for him.

“Please!” Nola resolved the tense scene easily. She didn’t need any men’s help. Everyone present looked at her admiringly.
Normally, men would only expect their girls to be gentle, sweet, and kind. Nola was way better than that. Actually, she was much
better than most of the men present. She was solid, smart, and decisive. While confronting problems, she stood out bravely and
dealt with them reasonably and nicely when men were standing by.
However, they still didn’t find out who did it.

Everyone was discussing and guessing who was supposed to be responsible for that. Most were biased toward Tanya, who was
wronged and admitted her mistakes. Some said that Nola was too calm. Maybe, she was pretending.
Tanya was worried, too. She didn’t know where this would go.
Janie was startled just now. She came to Nola and asked, “What happened just now? I shouldn’t have walked away and left you
alone.”
Nola shook her head and told her she was fine. Things happened. If someone wanted to cause trouble for her, they would do it
no matter what. Even if Janie had stayed, things would not have changed.

Janie looked at Elvis and asked, “Why didn’t you speak for Nola just now?”
Elvis smiled confidently, “She could handle this. She didn’t need my help.”

Nola smiled happily. She was grateful that Elvis didn’t offer to help because, as he said, she could handle this alone. As an
educated and independent woman, she could care for herself well. Besides, she could use this chance to show people she was
not a trophy wife.
Javion accompanied the slightly embarrassed Tanya to walk over. He didn’t question Nola about what was going on. He didn’t
need to.
In his impression, Tanya was gentle and sweet. She was nice to everyone. Nola was the opposite. She was aggressive all the
time. So, it must be Nola who started it.

She had said that she would make Tanya’s life hard.
“Nola, I know you don’t like Tanya. But deal with your problems in private. I don’t understand why you did this in front of
everyone. Where is your conscience?”
Nola smiled indifferently, “I don’t have that thing.”
She never thought that she would be a good person. The so–called good person would only make her sick. She just wanted to
be herself.
“Mr. Grayson, did you hear that? This is the woman you chose. Be careful. She is vicious and evil. Tsk tsk, your taste in women
is awful. I’m really worried about you. One day, she will scheme you.”
Instead of being angry, Elvis smiled, “Thanks for speaking so highly of my wife. I’m so glad Nola is strong enough to defend
herself. She just did as I told her: Fight back!”
Javion was taken aback and confused. He didn’t understand what Elvis was talking about.
Nola smiled gently and said, “It’s only because my baby taught me well. I will not show mercy to my enemies.”
“Keep going. You will do better.”
“I will!”
Javion was confused. He didn’t expect Elvis to say that. Didn’t he express himself well?

He wanted to explain himself further, but everyone’s attention was attracted to those ladies who had just changed their dresses.
Even though they were in ordinary clothes, their noble aura was impressive.
The problem was solved. The real show would begin. Everyone was excited to see who would be blamed.
Tanya took the initiative to admit her mistake, “It was all my fault. I fell over and stained your dresses. I’m so sorry. My sis is
innocent. It had nothing to do with her. When she pushed me, I should have stood steady. I’m so sorry.”

One of the ladies whose dress was stained said, “From the time of the accident until now, you have been explaining and
apologizing. I accept your apology.” Everyone was disappointed. Was that all? They were expecting a more dramatic scene!
