From Sneers to Cheers: Anthea’s Ascent

Chapter 506

Chapter 506
The TechNet forums were absolutely on fire.
"He took the challenge! Dad's accepted the challenge!"
"Oh my god, I'm so hyped!"
"Legend! Absolute legend!"
"He's the coolest!"
"Love him forever!"
"Damn, this YC is bold! Doesn't seem like one of those teams hiding in the shadows."
"Everyone can put on a show. Just wait-if he loses, he'll probably just whine about it."
"Haha, are you one of those whiners yourself?"
A poll popped up almost instantly: Would Anthea place in the top three?
Right now, over 2,000 people were rooting for Anthea.
Meanwhile, the three so-called giants from Pellonia had a little over 500 supporters combined.
At the Tech Summit Global, the organizer handed out numbered badges to every
contestant.
Rebecca had signed up too. Since she was here, there was no way she'd leave empty-handed.
She was determined to beat Anthea and reclaim every ounce of dignity she'd lost earlier. She was going to grind Anthea's face
into the floor.
"System, is there any way I can beat Anthea?" she asked quietly.
But unlike usual, the system didn't reply immediately.

Rebecca frowned. "System, are you there?"
Still nothing.

What the hell was going on?
Right then, the organizer reached her, handing her a badge. Rebecca took it with
a calm face, but inside, her mind was in complete chaos.
Why now, of all times, did the system decide to go silent?
"System!" she called out in her head, again and again.
No answer.
The contest had already started.
Contestants from all over the world took their places on stage.
Rebecca walked up, nerves jangling, silently praying for the system to come back. "System!"
But there was only silence. Even as she walked to her workstation, nothing changed.
What was happening? Where had the system gone?
Without it, she was utterly clueless about anything tech-related. How was she supposed to crush Anthea now?
What could she do?
Staring at the sophisticated equipment before her, Rebecca broke out in a cold sweat.
"System, please come back!"
Across the stage, Anthea glanced her way, a faint, knowing smile curving her lips.
Rebecca certainly had guts-marching up there without her system, pretending nothing was wrong.
But where Rebecca was a bundle of nerves, Anthea looked completely unfazed.

She set her phone down, opened her laptop,
With and got straight to work, her
fingers flying across the keyboard with a crisp, confident rhythm.
Her porcelain hands contrasted sharply with the hard, metallic keys-a striking image.
There were five tasks in total, all of them marked as SSS-level.
The time limit: two hours.

Fifteen minutes in, Anthea finished the first task.
Thirty minutes—she'd already completed the third.
By the fifty-minute mark, she'd wrapped up the fifth and final one.
She hit "Submit."
The contestants couldn't see each other's progress, but everyone on the forum had a live feed.
And when Anthea finished every task in under an hour, the forum exploded. "Holy crap! She's a legend!"
"I'm crying-this is the first year our Luxphinia actually has a shot at first place!"
"She's bringing glory to the country!"
"This is so exciting!"
"All those haters who called her a fraud,
Come get slapped! @Raineet
@MistyWorld, @Miss You and a thousand others!"
"She's just too good!"
"She'll always be the queen!"

"Oh my god! Has anyone ever finished all the tasks in under an hour before?"
"You're right! Last year those Pellonia 'giants' only managed three tasks in two hours!"
"I think the previous record was three!"
"She just broke the record!"
"What's up with YR? Everyone else is working and she hasn't even started. Is she lost?"
"Maybe she really is clueless!"
"Turns out the real cheater is YR!"
"YR, get out of the tech world! You're just embarrassing the Phoenix family. Disgusting!"
"Just look at how YR's dressed.
Anthea's outfit is so sharp, so
professional. YR's all dolled up in a
cocktail dress and fake
l.ne
lashes does she even know this is Tech Summit Global? Looks dike she's here for a party, not a competition!"
