Chapter 502
Chapter 502
This person wasn't an old man at all.
She was a girl-a young one, at that.
This was almost too much to take in!
The four of them made their way to the conference room they'd reserved in advance.
Dr. Varn opened his laptop, ready to discuss the project with Anthea.
Anthea glanced down at her phone. "Give me ten minutes. I just need to finish up two tasks before the deadline."
"You-you do your assignments on your phone?" Mason stared at Anthea in disbelief.
Anthea hummed an indifferent confirmation, barely looking up.
Her nonchalance left all three men-including Dr. Varn-completely stunned.
No one had imagined that Anthea could handle such complex work on her phone. "Could we... watch you work?" Eugene asked,
almost reverently.
"Sure," Anthea replied with a small nod.
The three men hurried over to her side, even the usually stern Dr. Varn murmuring in awe.
Had he not seen it with his own eyes, Dr. Varn would never have believed anyone could pull off such tasks on a phone, no matter
how hard someone tried to convince him.
But Anthea really did it-and with astonishing speed.
Incredible. Absolutely incredible.
Looks like Luxphinia Technologies is truly about to make its mark.
Eugene still looked dazed. "Do you... always work from your phone?"
Anthea pulled her laptop out of her bag. "Depends on the task. For basic stuff like that, my phone's enough."
Her tone was casual, but everyone else stared at her like she'd just performed a magic trick.
Basic?
Those tasks were classified as double S-tier, and she called them 'basic'?
If that was her definition of 'basic,' what on earth did she consider difficult?
Eugene began to wonder if Anthea had misunderstood the meaning of the word 'basic.'
He wasn't the only one floored; Mason and Dr. Varn were so shocked they could hardly speak.
Those two tasks Anthea had just completed? Even in Dr. Varn's hands, they'd take two days at least. For anyone else, it would
be a month or two, minimum.
She'd finished both in ten minutes-on a phone.
Nothing short of mind-blowing.
Anthea opened her laptop and glanced at Dr. Varn. "Doctor, shall we get started?”
Mason, ever curious, asked, "Anthea, I don't recognize your laptop brand. Where did you get it?"
"I built it myself," Anthea replied.
Mason licked his lips. He could assemble a computer too, but compared to Anthea, he was lightyears behind.
She truly was in a league of her own.
Dr. Varn opened his own laptop, and the two of them dove into a deep technical discussion.
Mason and Eugene sat off to the side, diligently taking notes.
Dr. Varn had corresponded with Anthea online before, but nothing compared to the intensity of face-to-face conversation. He was
Her grasp of technology was far beyond anything he'd expected. Even those three world-famous experts from Pellonia would
probably have to bow their heads in
front of her.
Time slipped by unnoticed. By the time anyone looked up, night had fallen outside
the windows.
Anthea closed her laptop. "Doctor, shall we call it a day?"
"All right," Dr. Varn replied, reluctantly shutting his computer. He added "Anthea, speaking with you is like a breath of fresh air-
truly
enlightening. I've never learned so much in such a short time.
"You flatter me, Doctor," Anthea said with a faint smile.
Mason gathered up his notes and said, "Anthea, Dr. Varn, it's getting late. I'll order some dinner for us."
Anthea nodded. "I'll go wash up first.”
Dr. Varn was still lost in thought, itching to rush back to the lab and start
experimenting right away.
Meanwhile
Rebecca Morris arrived in Capital City.
Mason's assistant met her at the station.
"Ms. Morris, right this way, please."
The young assistant had never seen someone so renowned in tech circles who was also so young. She was awestruck-and
more than a little envious. If she were half as talented as Rebecca, she wouldn't be stuck fetching coffee for other people.
Rebecca caught the look of admiration and surprise in her eyes. "Francis, tell me
-does YC stay at this hotel too?"
"Yes, he does," the assistant replied with a nod.
"Which room is he in?" Rebecca asked.
"I'm... not exactly sure," the assistant admitted.
