Chapter 622
Chapter 622
Sebastian picked a light blue dress for Stephanie because his tic was also blue.
As Sebastian and Stephanie came out of the sitting room, Richard and Sofia started arguing again for no clear reason. They had
just cleared up the “money” issue, but here they were, quarreling once more.
It sounded like Richard was accusing Sofia of being fake, and Sofia couldn’t stand it. She had been quietly doing charity work for
many years. Now, with Richard saying this, it wasn’t just an argument anymore; it had escalated into a full–fledged fight.
“Think your mouth’s lost its use, huh? I’ll shut you up for good,” Sofia said, moving closer to him.
Richard grabbed her slender waist–something she didn’t like others touching–and she immediately got angry. “Where do you
think you’re grabbing? Let me go right now!” she yelled, raising her hand to slap him.
‘Damn it. Other women would go weak when touched there, but Sofia turned into a spitfire. Richard’s expression darkened. He
seized her slender wrist. “Enough. You think I’m eager to touch you? Even if you were offered to me, I wouldn’t take you.”
“You wouldn’t take me, yet you touch. You jerk!” Sofia lifted her other hand to hit him.
you ever get married in this lifetime.”
Those words were vicious. As a woman, especially a perfectly fine one, who could endure such a curse? Sofia certainly couldn’t.
“Damn you, you jerk!”
Richard shot back, “I’m just being honest–go out and ask if anyone likes someone as hot–tempered as you.”
Sofia was too angry to speak. ‘Damn it! I have to rip his mouth apart today, or I’ll never hear the end of it.
Stephanie and Sebastian exchanged glances. Stephanie wanted to step in and help, but Sebastian pulled her away at once.
Once they were upstairs, Stephanie wriggled free from his strong grip and protested, “What are you doing? I-”
Sebastian said, “She doesn’t need your help.”
That was true. Sofia was certainly not at a disadvantage against Richard. However, Stephanie was still a bit annoyed since
Richard had caused her and Sebastian to be apart for so many years. With that thought, everything Richard did seemed wrong
to Stephanie.
“You’re not worried about Sofia? The Casalini family is a total disaster right now,” Stephanie noted.
Richard’s stepmother had acted so well–behaved when she first joined the family. But now, her actions were becoming more
Sensing Stephanie’s concerns, Sebastian smiled slightly. “Sofia won’t fall for their tricks.”
Stephanie fell silent, realizing he had a point. No matter what schemes were plotted against Richard and Sofia, Sofia wouldn’t
take the bait.

Attending parties generally meant one didn’t get full at these events. Since Stephanie was pregnant, her family naturally put her
needs first.
Lottie had been out for some time and called back, “Make something for Stefi in the kitchen and let her have a snack.”
“Yes, Mrs. Lucano,” the butler answered respectfully.

Actually, there was no need for her to worry. Sebastian had already taken care of everything. Besides, Stephanie was feeling
sleepy. Sebastian took her back to their room, planning for her to nap for an hour, cat something, and then leave.
As soon as they entered the room, Sebastian received a call. His expression shifted slightly as he covered the receiver and
looked at Stephanie. “Be good and take a nap. You and Sofia can head to the event together later–no rush, okay?”
