Chapter 2484

Chapter 2484
Sophia grabbed her jacket and purse and stepped out of the private dining room, while Yolanda quickly dialed her friend, "I'm at
AIF Cafe on HH Rd. Hurry over, someone's treating us!"
Once home, Sophia thought about sending Jason a video right away. But considering it was daytime over there and he might be
at work, she opted to text "Got home" before heading off to shower.
When she emerged, her phone showed two missed video calls. She quickly called him back.
"Sorry, I went to take a shower!" Sophia explained.
Her hair was still dripping wet, and her fresh-faced look dimmed Jason's eyes a shade,
"You could take the phone with you into the bathroom," he suggested.
"No way!" Sophia flatly refused.
Jason chuckled, "You got back earlier than I expected."
"I skipped dinner, so I came back early," Sophia said.
Jason frowned, "Why'd you skip dinner?"

Sophia hesitated but decided not to mention Diana's drama.
Past issues weren't worth troubling the present over.
She lay on her bed, laughing, "Apart from discussing the ring design, I really had nothing to say to Ms. Yolanda, so I left early."
"I'll order some food for you," offered Jason.
"I can do it!" Sophia grabbed her phone to order.
Jason instructed firmly, "Only a proper meal, no junk food allowed."
Sophia's hand trembled guiltily as she tapped the screen. She looked up, her eyes wide and pleading, "Just this once?"
"Not even once!" Jason, sitting in his office chair, pushed his glasses up, "Or I'll order for you."

“Alright, alright, I get it!" Sophia grumbled quietly, "So much for personal freedom!"
Having always been prone to
sickness, Jason had always kept a close eye on her diet, forbidding street food and fried snacks. Living alone gave her some
leeway to indulge occasionally, but now she felt constantly monitored.
After placing her order, Sophia said, "Go on with your work, I'm going to dry my hair."
"No need to hang up, it won't distract me," Jason replied.
So, Sophia set her phone down on the bed and went about her business drying her hair and tidying up the bathroom. Jason's

place had a cleaner come every afternoon, but she still preferred to keep he space neat.
While Jason worked and Sophia
busied herself, they kept the video
call open, occasionally glancing at each other or exchanging a few each other
words, feeling as though they were right beside each other.
Half an hour later, Sophia's delivery arrived.
She placed the food on the dining table and waved at Jason through the video, "I'm going to eat now. I'll hang up and watch a
show while eating, and we can talk after."
Jason, pen in hand and smiling gently, said, "Show me what you ordered first?"
Sophia's eyes darted around, and she aimed her phone at the table, "Take a look!"
Before even finishing her sentence, she hung up and sat down, laughing triumphantly to herself.
Jason didn't call back but sent a message, “Eat just a little, just to satisfy the craving. I've ordered a beef stew for you; it'll be
there soon."
Sophia's eyes twinkled with joy, "Thank you, Mr. Gilder!"

After replying to his message, she opened her favorite show and started on her feast of barbecue, fried snacks, and desserts.
Midway through her meal, the beef stew arrived in a fancy insulated container, releasing a delicious aroma the moment she
opened it.
The soup was just the perfect ending.
Right on cue, Jason's video call came through again, and Sophia chatted with him while cleaning up the dining area.
