Chapter 2463
Chapter 2463
Sophie was puzzled, "Why buy so many pajamas?"
With a serious look, Jake replied, "Wait until I get back from M Country, and you'll move in with me."
Sophie was even more surprised, "Why would I move in with you?"
Jake chuckled lightly, "Because I'll cook your favorite meals every day, let you sleep in, and we can both be late to work without
anyone minding!"
Sophie suspected these were just excuses, but she dared not confront him with the real reason.
She didn't agree, but she didn't refuse either. Murmuring a non-committal response, she got up to grab her pajamas for a
shower.
A few steps away, she heard Jake say from behind, "Don't worry, before you move in, I'll talk to Mrs. Jasmine."
Sophie nearly stumbled, turning back in surprise.
With a cold chuckle, Sophie thought her mom would probably be too delighted to even keep her face mask on properly.
Grabbing her pajamas, she headed for the guest bathroom, just as Jake entered, "Is the water in the master bath too hot or too
cold?"
"Huh?" Sophie looked at him, puzzled.
"Why are you heading to the guest bathroom to shower?" Jake asked.
"After showering, I'll sleep in the guest room," said Sophie quickly, waving her hand, "Goodnight!"
But Jake caught her wrist in a grasp, frowning at her, "Sleep in the guest room?"
Thinking of the blue box in the drawer made the master bedroom seem all too dangerous to Sophie. She laughed nervously,
"Sleeping together, we won't sleep well, and we both have work tomorrow."
"How would we not sleep well?" Jake pressed, his face calm.
Sophie glared at him, annoyed at his feigned ignorance.
Jake's tone turned earnest, "Did I disturb your sleep?"
His concern made Sophie feel somewhat embarrassed, "Not really."
all."
Sophie's heart melted, "Fine, but no more disturbances. We need to sleep properly."
Jake nodded, "Okay."
He ushered her to the bathroom, "Take your time, I'm not that low. If I wanted to look, I'd be upfront about it!"
Sophie wanted to clarify she wasn't afraid of him looking, but she caught herself in time and kept quiet, preferring his
misunderstanding.
Jake, however, knew her thoughts all too well and smiled lightly, "Go shower, I'll make a call!"
Sophie sighed in relief and hurried into the bathroom, closing the door tightly behind her.
When she came out, Jake wasn't in the bedroom. She dried her hair, crawled into bed, and stretched comfortably under the cozy
blankets.
However, she could hear clearly when Jake came back to shower.
Her imagination ran wild, and she quickly hid under the covers.
A few minutes later, the man emerged, wrapped in a towel, drying his hair.
Peeking out, Sophie only saw his well-defined, sleek back, feeling a rush of heat to her head, almost causing a nosebleed, and
quickly covered herself again.
She suddenly felt a bit scared, fearing the wolf ready to pounce wasn't Jake.
True to his word, Jake didn't touch her again, only giving her a goodnight kiss before turning off the light to sleep.
