Chapter 2458
Chapter 2458
Jason was beyond restless, the moonlight casting a radiant glow on the girl's silhouette, her curves softly illuminated, stirring a
restless energy within him.
Yet, all he could do was exchange silent stares with Nick, who was tucked snugly between them.
Time seemed to stretch on endlessly until Jason finally whispered, "Sophia, after we get married, let's get another dog."
It could fill the void left by Nick's passing and grow up alongside our kids.
Sophia, ever so carefree, was already on the verge of sleep and probably didn't catch what he said, mumbling a sleepy "Hmm" in
response.
Her voice was so heavy with sleep, it was clear she was utterly exhausted.
Jason didn't want to disturb her further, knowing these past few days hadn't been easy on her, and let her sleep peacefully.
He knew her better than she knew herself. Despite her bold and carefree demeanor, she cared deeply for those close to her but
struggled to express it, preferring to keep things to herself.
over him.
The next day
As Sophia drifted between sleep and wakefulness, she thought she heard Jason get up, his movements towards the bathroom,
the sounds of him dressing. Then, faintly, a door knocking and him answering it.
These soft, muffled sounds comforted her, lulling her back to sleep.
Before dawn, she could hear her parents stirring, their voices and footsteps in the hallway, the distant sound of fireworks below...
That sense of peace and warmth enveloped her, making her wish to remain in this dreamy state, waiting for her father to come
wake her, to playfully resist getting up, basking in the moment.
She thought such feelings were long gone with childhood, yet here they were, experienced anew.
Suddenly, she felt Jason's presence close behind her, his kiss landing before she could even open her eyes.
Sophia dodged slightly, burying her face into the pillow, muffling out, "Don't kiss me, I haven't brushed my teeth."
"I did, and I don't mind!" he retorted, pulling her close to shower her eyes, nose, and then lips with kisses.
With the curtains drawn back, the sunlight bathed them in warmth as they embraced and kissed, a moment so natural and right.
After a moment, Sophia paused and looked at him with doe eyes, "I'm and sweet iced

coffee. The coffee here is always too bitter for my taste."
Jason kissed the tip of her nose, "Got it all ready. Let's get up and eat!"
Wrapping her arms around his neck, Sophia teased, "If I'm with you, can I be spoiled and always be late without worry?"
"If we're together?" Jason echoed, his voice deep and eyebrows raised, "And what are we now?"
"Under evaluation, relationship status pending!" Sophia declared with mock seriousness.
Jason nodded, not bothering to argue, answering her earlier
question, "You can be late, or penet

"All these perks, huh?" Sophia's eyes sparkled with mischief, "Tempting proposition!"
"Make a decision soon, and you can start enjoying the benefits," Jason leaned in, his voice seductive.
They kissed again, the morning sun
casting a soft golden glow on Sophia's cheeks, spreading to her neck, teaving her utterly breathless
and weak, whispering, "We should get up now."
"Right!" Jason agreed, standing up, "Let's freshen up and have breakfast."
Sophia watched him, nodding in agreement.
