Chapter 2451
Chapter 2452
They started dating back in M Country, but once they returned to their home country, Sophia and Jason were close but not
intimate. The only exception was that time she came out of the bathroom and was seen by Robin. From then on, she secretly
decided to keep her distance from Jason.
But it didn't change anything.
"Look, I'm not saying I don't trust you. Maybe you're just too close to see it clearly," Robin said, "But I can bet Jason has had a
thing for you for a long time!" Sophia's eyes twitched, probably out of guilt, but she remained silent.
"I knew it, didn't I?" Robin pressed, looking into Sophia's eyes, "Before you guys broke up, it was all out in the open. So what
about now? Do you like him?"
Sophia bit her lip, her gaze firm. "Whether I like him or not has nothing to do with us, Robin. Don't mix things up. Even if I never
date anyone else or fall in love again, it won't change how I feel about you!"
A shadow of pain crossed Robin's eyes. "I'm sorry, Sophia."
Sophia stepped back slowly and turned to leave.
got to go!"
Everyone crowded around her, trying to make her stay. "Come on, we agreed no one leaves early today. Boss lady, you can't
back out now!"
"What's the rush? Stay a bit longer!"
"Yeah, it's still early!"
Sophia chuckled, "I really have something on. Enjoy, and see you tomorrow!"
Reluctantly, they said their goodbyes. Tina walked her to the door, concerned. "Sophia, are you okay? Let me drive you home."
"It's nothing, just a bit of cocktail. Go back and have fun!" Sophia waved her off, her short hair swishing as she turned, her figure
resolute.
The Blue Qasis was just two streets om her apartment. She
vel
a ride to drive her car back decided to walk home herself.
The cool night air was perfect for sobering up.
It was only 9:30 pm, and the streets were bustling with couples strolling arm in arm, their laughter and playfulness adding a touch
It wasn't even March, and the night air was brisk. She wrapped her coat tighter
around herself as she walked slowly along the street.
Passing by a boutique, she wandered in and spotted a stuffed dog on a shelf.
It reminded her of Nick, the family
dog back when she and Jason were kids. On Nick's first day with the Gilders, she and Jason had built
ta
wooden kennel for him, and she
even placed her new scarf inside as a cushion.
Worried about her getting scolded, Jason bought her an identical scarf the next day.
Holding the stuffed dog, Sophia realized that she remembered every single thing about her and Jason from their childhood very
clearly.
Thinking it over, she understood that Jason's affection was hidden in those small acts, always thoughtful and warm.
This realization made even his stern lectures seem less unbearable.
She checked her phone, cluttered with a bunch of messages but none from him.
Surely he wasn't too busy to send even a single message?
Had he given up on her? What had she said that day?
She had been in such a hurry she couldn't even remember.
He must have been really hurt by her words, that's why he suddenly stopped talking.
She looked at the stuffed dog for a long while before finally taking it to the counter, paying $5, and tucking it into her bag.
