Chapter 27
Edgar wondered whether Patric was the one behind the scenes.
Frowning, he said indifferently, “Continue to search for her. Send someone to investigate Patrick, Inform me as soon as you find
her.”
“Yes.”
Tim nodded, but his face showed that he was unconvinced.
Seeing that he was still standing there, Edgar was confused and asked, “Why aren’t you leaving yet? What do you want to say?”
Tìm hesitated for a while. He knew that he might annoy Edgar, but he still couldn’t help it.
“I’m getting more and more confused about you, Mr. Fallen. You’re already divorced, but you’re still so concerned about your ex–
wife. Why are you ignoring Miss Mellis, whom you really should care about? What are you thinking?”
Narrowing his eyes, Edgar picked up the glass ashtray on the table and threw it at Tim’s feet.
“Get lost!”
Tim sensibly retreated.
He smoked two more cigarettes. Amid the lingering smoke, he looked a little hazy.
Feeling hungry, he got up and opened the refrigerator.
There were all kinds of groceries inside, all of which were his favorites.
He was stunned on the spot.
All of a sudden, he vaguely remembered that in the past three years, every time he returned home, the first thing he saw was the
expectant look in Sylvia’s eyes.

Greeting him with a smile, she handed him slippers and said, “You’re back. You’ve worked hard today. Are you hungry? I’ve
prepared dinner.”
But he had never looked her in the eye. In the face of the hot dishes on the table, he always sneered,
mocked her, and went back to his room.

It was a thankless task, but stupid Sylvia kept repeating it every day.

Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but laugh.
Tonight, for some reason, he suddenly wanted to taste the food Sylvia cooked.
Her last words before she left the banquet tonight suddenly rang in his ears.
“We were married for three years. My conscience is clear about you.”
If she did have a clear conscience, then what was going on with Patric?
Realizing that he had been thinking about Sylvia all the time, Edgar felt very strange. He angrily closed the refrigerator and went
upstairs to take a shower.
Early the next morning...
The lobby of the Angle Group was crowded.
The employees stood in a few rows and looked at each other, waiting for Patric to arrive.
Half an hour later, Patric showed up at the entrance of the hall with Sylvia.
Sylvia had specially chosen a white suit with a hip–wrapped skirt today. Her ponytail was raised high, which made her look
generous, capable, and sexy.

At the sight of her appearance, there was a commotion among the employees.
The scene of them coming in through the door together was so pleasing to the eye.
Patric walked to the middle and announced solemnly, saying, “This is Miss Sylvia Lancelot, the new general manager of the
company. She will work alongside you in the future.”
The crowd burst into a round of applause.
Sylvia nodded politely with a smile.
After that, Patric made a rough arrangement for the recent KPI and asked everyone to go back to work, leaving the management
team behind.
“Lucy, Sylvia has just arrived and is not familiar with the business yet. Please help her out.”
Lucy, who was named by Patric, was the agent manager. She had blonde and brown wavy hair. Although her makeup was
relatively gorgeous, she was a beauty with an excellent figure.

Nodding repeatedly, she smiled very enthusiastically and said, “Mr. Smith, don’t worry. I will do my best to help Miss Lancelot.”

After Patric left, she stopped smiling and glanced at Sylvia before saying, “Miss Lancelot, please come with
Ine.”
When she looked over, Sylvia was also looking at her. Sylvia keenly noticed a hint of imperceptible
disgust in her eyes.
Sylvia thought, “Lucy doesn’t seem to welcome me!”

Sylvia said, “Ms. Gordan, please call me director in the future.”
Lucy choked, and she immediately became respectful.
For the whole morning, Sylvia was familiarizing herself with the company’s documents in the office. Lucy brought stacks of
documents to her.
The documents piled up on her desk.
Glancing at the huge pile of documents, Sylvía asked with a frown, “Isn’t our department in charge of agents and artists? Why do
I need to know so much information?”
Lucy laughed derisively.
“These are just the basics. When you finish reading this pile, there will be more.”
She paused for a moment and looked at Sylvia mockingly, saying, “Miss Lancelot, you don’t seem to be familiar with this line of
work.”
Sylvia nodded and said, “Yes, it’s my first time.”
Lucy’s eyes widened in shock.
Originally, after the former director was transferred, this position was vacant. Lucy was the most qualified candidate for
promotion. However, Sylvia, who was a good–for–nothing, suddenly appeared and directly stole this position from her. Other
employees secretly laughed at her because of it.
Lucy wouldn’t keep the anger to herself.
When she looked at Sylvia’s delicate face again, her eyes were full of jealousy and unwillingness.
“For a scumbag like you with no experience or educational background, how did you get into the Angle Group? Who did you
sleep with to force your way in?”
