Joycelyn sensed her husband’s expression darken significantly after talking to Jeff. “What’s wrong? What did Jeff say to you?”
She leaned in and asked softly.
“About the ring,” Ellison replied. At the mention of the ring, Joycelyn’s expression subtly changed due to lingering fear.
Ellison immediately held her small hands, and his warm palm wrapped around her cold hands. His voice was gentle when he
said, “Don’t be afraid.” Joycelyn murmured in response and felt a tender feeling in her heart.
“Jeff said that Joycelyn’s near miscarriage was schemed by someone. Have we found out who it was?” Timothy seemed to have
thought of the same issue and asked.
Hearing this, the expressions of a few of them turned somewhat serious. “He’s just woke up and is still investigating.” Joycelyn
quickly said, worried they might blame Ellison.
Everyone was aware that Ellison had only woken up yesterday. “I’ll get to the bottom of it,” Ellison said firmly, his tone
unwavering.
“In that case, I’ll stay back a few more days to see if we can resolve things before I leave. I’ll leave the company matters to
Jerome and Sebastian for now,” Timothy said.
Now the situation seemed even more complicated than they had imagined. They could not let a man who had been in a coma for
over 20 days and still had a cast on his leg handle the investigation alone.
“I’ll stay back too. I have nothing else to do, anyway,” Edward said casually while drinking milk.
“Sure,” Timothy nodded and said.
“Shirley, when will Joycelyn’s condition stabilize?” Timothy asked.
“Normally, the critical period lasts for the first three months. But given her current steady recovery, it might not take that long. To
play safe, she should still rest well for at least a month,” Shirley replied.

Hearing this, Joycelyn bit her lips in fear and fell silent. She had only started preparing for pregnancy but never expected to
conceive after just two nights.
“In that case, don’t go to the hospital today. Stay home and rest. I, Timothy, and Shirley will check on Kingston’s condition,”
Ellison said as he looked at her.
“I...” Joycelyn was worried about her own condition but also unwilling to let the person who framed her get away with it. “I have
to go. If my ring was swapped, I’ll be able to tell,” she said.
“If you could recognize it, why didn’t you notice it?” Ellison asked.
“I didn’t pay attention or think much about it. When I first wore my wedding ring to the company, I was worried that people would

discover our relationship.
“I thus pried a diamond out, leaving a tiny flaw in the bow to make the ring look like a cheap knockoff. However, the diamond was
hard to remove, the flaw was thus very subtle,” Joycelyn felt a little embarrassed as she explained.
She did not dare to pry too hard, fearing she might damage the ring. Otherwise, she would have noticed the flaw immediately
after wearing it for so long.
“Luckily you didn’t buy a fake one to wear,” Ellison said, his deep brown eyes locked onto hers, a hint of helplessness flickering
within.

A large crowd had gathered at the hospital’s main entrance, seemingly causing a commotion. Many reporters were also present.
It was an even bigger scene than when the Lester family members were here.
“Wow! What’s going on?” Sandra leaned against the passenger seat window, watching the chaotic scene outside. “Ellison, is this
your doings?” Sandra suddenly turned back and asked him.
“Otherwise, how would we get Leah out of our way?” Ellison glanced at the chaos outside. Leah stood in the center of the crowd,
protected by security guards as she patiently tried to calm the protesting patients‘ families members.
The two cars slowly drove into the underground parking lot. After getting out, Jeff pushed Ellison’s wheelchair. Since Joycelyn
was feeling relatively well today, she walked behind with Sandra and Shirley. Timothy and Edward were at the back. The seven
of them headed straight for the elevator.
“Later, Sandra, act quickly. Edward, you and your brother should control the nurse station and make sure they don’t send out an
alert.” Ellison instructed in a deep voice.
In the elevator, the atmosphere grew tense. Sandra clenched her small fists and took a deep breath. “Little girl, take care of the
nurse station. I’ll handle the bodyguards,” Edward said, unaware of Sandra’s strength, and treated her as a little girl.
‘She’s only about 5 feet 3 inches tall. No matter how fast she is, how fast can she be?” Edward thought.
Sandra said nothing. When they stepped out of the elevator, three security guards stopped them. Joycelyn stood at the back
while Jeff positioned himself before Ellison and Shirley.
Joycelyn stood at the very back. Jeff pushed Ellison in front of her and Shirley.

Edward walked out first. He was 6 feet tall, but the lead security guard was nearly 6.5 feet. Just a moment ago, Edward had
been acting all high and mighty, but now he felt slightly intimidated.
“Give way!” Edward clenched his fists, scanning the tall security guard’s body for a weak spot. ‘Damn it, this guy is all muscles!
Where should I punch to cause the most damage?‘ he thought.
“No unauthorized personnel is allowed here,” said the guard. Perhaps because they saw Ellison in a wheelchair, the guards
assumed they were just patients from another floor.
Sandra suddenly pushed Edward aside with one hand and swung her tiny fist forward. The 6.5–foot–tall and 200–pound
muscleman was sent flying with a single punch.

Edward’s eyes widened in shock. “Sandra, protect me!” He shouted and quickly dodged to the side to avoid getting caught in the
crossfire.
Sandra’s movements were swift and ruthless. She looked petite and delicate but was agile and violent when she fought.
Jeff and his wife knew of her abilities, so they were not surprised. Although Timothy was better than Edward, he was just as
shocked as him.
“Little girl, nice moves.” Timothy was stunned.
With the three security guards knocked down, Jeff immediately pushed Ellison’s wheelchair forward, heading straight for
Kingston’s ward.

Sandra’s sweet yet deadly expression made the head nurse at the station freeze in place. “Hand over your phones and stand
over there. I’d rather not have to punch a hole through your pretty little heads,” Sandra smiled and threatened them. The nurses
did not dare to resist.
Edward was not as good at fighting as Sandra, but he was an expert at disabling surveillance cameras. “You watch them here. I’ll
check inside,” Sandra said. She left Edward to take charge and quickly entered the ward.
Inside, Kingston was still unconscious in bed. For some reason, Sandra felt a strange discomfort looking at him.
Shirley took his pulse for about three minutes. “This is strange...” She murmured looking troubled.
“Shirley, what’s wrong?” Joycelyn asked worriedly.
“His pulse is at times steady and yet erratic,” Shirley said, then leaned in to check Kingston’s eyes. Sandra, leaning on the other
side, accidentally touched his hand. Suddenly, she felt him move.
“Shirley, his hand moved! It’s like what happened to my brother before,” Sandra said excitedly.
Everyone turned to look at him. It was true. “But why isn’t he waking up?” Shirley quickly checked Kingston’s upper body for
injuries.

Just then, Leah’s cold voice rang out from outside. “Who are you? What’s going on here?”
Startled, Joycelyn grabbed onto the bedframe, accidentally shifting it slightly. Ellison immediately held her arm to steady her. At
that moment, Shirley was bending down, examining Kingston’s head...
