Chapter 323
Hamilton eyed the woman before him.
She seemed transformed: more mature, confident, and even more captivating than before.
Yet, in a way, she seemed unchanged-still the woman who once nestled in his arms, questioning if he could safeguard their future together.
He sensed she had something to convey.
Otherwise, given her disposition, she wouldn't have initiated a conversation with him.
Now, he was at a loss for words.
He longed for her to draw nearer, yet feared getting too close might hurt her.
"How have you been?" Hamilton asked, feeling a twinge of sorrow.
He was aware that her recent years had been anything but easy.
Upon arriving in Landeia, she had to see a therapist nearly every week.
Even now, she relied on sleeping pills to find rest at night.
Hamilton's heart ached; he wished he could embrace her, reassuring her that their Amora was safe.
Yet, he restrained himself.
The Fowler family had seen better days.
But the worse things got, the more fierce the backlash they faced.
Neither the old man nor Spencer were to be underestimated.
Spencer was ruthless, wishing Hamilton dead, while Westley still hoped for his
return to helm the Fowler family, viewing Amor Group merely as an extension of their empire.
And then there was the Powell family.
Though the Powell family had been quiet, Delilah made sure to remind everyone of her presence now and then.
Hamilton hadn't expected Natalia to return so soon.
He had hoped for two more years to level the old Fowler dynasty and carve out a new realm for her and their daughter.
But she had chosen this moment to come back.
"Not too bad," Natalia murmured in reply.
Hamilton chuckled, nodding. After a moment's hesitation, he couldn't help but ask, “The man earlier, is he your boyfriend?"
Natalia just looked at him, prompting a bitter smile from Hamilton. "I overstepped, didn't I?"
With that, he glanced at her and walked away.
"Where are you staying now?"
"Over at Scarlett's," Natalia replied, following him and watching his back, her eyes filled with an indescribable mix of profound sadness and, perhaps, a joy she hadn't noticed herself a joy of reunion.
They exited the venue together.
In another corner of the room, Delilah clenched her teeth in frustration.
During Natalia's absence, she had thought she stood a chance by Hamilton's side.
Yet, Hamilton hadn't given her any opportunity at all.
Now, she didn't even have a chance to get close to him.
The old man of the Fowler family had also ceased his support, even looking for
Fuming, Delilah trembled with anger.
Then, a man approached her with a drink in hand.
"Delilah."
She glanced at Spencer with disdain.
"What do you want?"
Spencer, holding his drink, also watched the departing pair at the door.
"Don't they look well-ma d?"
Already furious, Delilah's face contorted even more at Spencer's comment.
"Spencer, you bastard, dare to mock me?"
The word "bastard" darkened Spencer's expression, but he maintained his smile.
"You misunderstand, Delilah. Why would I mock you? I'm here to help."
"I help you get into Hamilton's bed; you help me gain the old Fowler men's approval. How about it?"
Despite his efforts within the Fowler family, the old men, including the patriarch and the elders, refused to acknowledge his position as head of the family, all because of
his illegitimacy.
But what did being a bastard matter?
Without him, the Fowler family would have crumbled under Hamilton's pressure long
ago!
Delilah looked at him skeptically, "And how do you propose to manage that?"
"I have my ways."
She remained unconvinced but was willing to try if he could indeed deliver.
With Natalia's child gone, bearing Hamilton's child would elevate her status
immeasurably above Natalia's.
"Prove it, then," Delilah said before walking away.
Spencer watched her leave, a venomous glint in his eye.
Following Hamilton out, Natalia found a car waiting for them.
Hamilton had been drinking, so Alden had come to pick them up.
Alden was surprised to see Natalia.
After a moment, he greeted, "Natalia."
She nodded, "Alden, long time no see."
Alden exchanged glances between Hamilton and Natalia, his thoughts inevitably
drifting to the child far away.
When would this family finally find peace?
Feeling a lump in his throat, Alden quickly looked away, fearing Natalia might notice.
Hamilton opened the car door for Natalia, who softly thanked him.
Inside the car, neither seemed inclined to break the silence until they arrived at
Scarlett's place. Alden got out of the car, and Natalia finally spoke.
"Hamilton, that explosion years ago-whose doing was it?"
Hamilton stared outside for a long while before responding.
"The Powell family's involved, so is the Fowler family, but there's no solid proof yet."
Natalia pursed her lips and nodded solemnly.
"Let's team up."
Hamilton was taken aback, then turned to look at her.
"Team up for what?"
"To avenge our child."
The word 'child' twisted in Natalia's
heart like a knife. Over the years, everyone had tiptoed around her with the subject, but only she knew that the more it was avoided, the more it haunted her. Content

Their child was a wound in her heart that still bled, even after three years.
Hamilton felt a lump in his throat but scoffed instead.
"And what, Ms. Jenkins, do you think you could offer me?"
Natalia chuckled, "The Fowler Group is running out of options domestically and looking abroad for new ventures. They'll need top-notch translators for that, and that's where I can plant my people. I can keep
you posted on every move they make." Content belongs to Novelxo.org
"Hamilton, Spencer's wary of you, making it hard for your people to get close. But if I
place someone under the guise of a translator, it'll be much easier."
"Of course, it won't be under Jen

Hamilton looked at the woman before him.
He had to admit, she had grown a lot over the years.
But his response was firm.
"No need."
His rejection was immediate.
"Natalia, if you're back to do business, then focus on that. If not, you might as well
go back overseas. Your involvement will only complicate things for me."
His words were harsh.
He expected her to react with anger, to hit him, to shout at him, but she didn't.
Instead, she just smiled.
"Hamilton, I approached you first because you're the father of my child, meaning we
share a common goal. But you're not my only option."
She casually flipped her hair, exuding femininity but her eyes carried a touch of
indifference.
"Be it the Fowler family or the Powell family, you're not my only enemy. If you're not interested, I'll find someone else."
Her gaze dropped, "That was my child, and no one can take away my right to seek justice."
With that, she opened the door and left the car.
Watching her walk away, Hamilton's eyes were filled with complex emotions.
Yet, in the end, he couldn't help asking. "Who do you plan to team up with?"
