Contract With The Alpha King by Brey Mitchylle

Chapter 16

Chapter 16
The StormHowl Pack is currently the largest pack in Georgia," Elijah said as he surveyed the room given to them by Alpha
Leonard Kraus, Regor had already called the Alpha beforehand and told him not to welcome them with flair and to keep their
arrival a secret. The Alpha thankfully agreed without asking any questions. "We should be safe for the night," Elijah
continued.
Fiona let her eyes wander around the room, taking in the surroundings. The guest room was surprisingly luxurious, with rich,
dark wood furnishings that gave the space a warm and inviting feel. The large windows were draped with heavy velvet curtains
that matched the deep burgundy tones of the plush rug beneath her feet. A crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling, casting a
soft, golden glow over everything.
But her attention quickly shifted to the centerpiece of the room single, large king-sized bed. The bed was covered in crisp, white
linens, looking incredibly comfortable and far too big for just one person. Her heart skipped a beat as the reality of the situation
settled in-they would be sharing that bed tonight.
Despite the exhaustion weighing on her, Fiona couldn't shake the thoughts running through her mind. The proximity, the intimacy
of sharing such a small space with Elijah-it was enough to make her pulse quicken. She felt a strange mix of anticipation and
nervousness, unsure of how the night would unfold
Elijah moved past her, casually inspecting the room as well, but his presence only heightened her awareness of the situation.
Every movement he made seemed to amplify the tension in the air. Fiona swallowed hard, trying to focus on than the bed, but
her eyes kept drifting back to it anything other
She could feel Elijah's gaze on her, and when she finally looked up, their eyes met. There was something in his expression, a
flicker of something she couldn't quite name. It wasn't just concern or care-there was something more, something that made her
breath catch in her throat.
Slowly, Fiona could feel her cheeks flush. She quickly looked away, hoping to regain some composure. But the thought of them
lying so close together, the possibility of what might happen-it was all she could think about.
She silently blamed the contract that be made her sign.
"Are you sure you feel fine now?" Fiona asked, trying her best to think of something else. "I mean-you were wounded and
unconscious."

Yet, I was able to transform without any problems," he answered her while lifting his eyebrow. "However..." He took a step
forward. Then, without saying another word, he slowly unbuttoned his shirt. His gray eyes bore into hers as if he were reading
the insides of her soul. Fiona hated being this exposed.
Then he added, "I wouldn't mind it if you checked my body again. Healers should make sure that their patients. feel fine. We

wouldn't want any complications, right?"
Fiona's breath hitched. She tried to focus on anything but the heat rising in her cheeks, but his slow, deliberate movements made
it impossible. As he unbuttoned his shirt, revealing the chiseled lines of his chest, she felt her heart race. uncontrollably.
"I-I don't think that's necessary, Fiona stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. She took a step back instinctively, but Elijah
only moved closer, closing the distance between them with a calm, confident stride.
"Are you sure?" Elijah's voice was smooth, almost teasing, as he shrugged off the shirt entirely, letting it fall to the floor. "1
wouldn't want to be anything less than perfect."
Fiona's back hit the wall, the cool surface a stark contrast to the beat flooding her body. She was trapped, with Elijah Towering
over her, his presence overwhelming. Her mind scrambled for words, but all coherent thought was slipping away, replaced by the
undeniable tension between them.
"Elijah.." she managed to say, her voice trembling. But he was already leaning in, his hands braced on either side of her, his
body inches from hers

"I'm fine. Fiona," he whimpered, his breath warm against her ear. But if it helps you sleep better, you can make sure yourself"
Fiona's hands hovered uncertainly in the air, her fingers brushing against his hare skin. The sensation sent a shiver down her
spine, and she hit her lip, trying to keep her composure. But Elijah's closeness, the intensity in his eyes, made it impossible to
think clearly. Her gaze met his, and for a moment, neither of them moved. The air was thick with unspoken desire, and Fiona felt
herself being drawn in, her resolve weakening with every passing second.
"Elijah..." she whispered again, this time with less resistance, her voice laced with something she couldn't quite name.

He responded by gently cupping her face, his thumb brushing against her cheek. "You don't have to be afraid," he murmured his
voice low and soothing. "I would never hurt you
Elijah didn't hesitate. He closed the remaining distance between them and captured Fiona's lips in a fiery kiss. It was intense,
filled with all the tension that had been building between them Fiona's hands instinctively moved to his chest, her fingeri tracing
the hard lines of his muscles as she lost herself in the sensation
Elijah's hands slid down her sides, pulling her closer until there was no space left between their bodies. His touch was firm,
commanding, as he explored her curves, his hands moving to the small of her back and pressing her against him.
Fiona's breath came in short gasps as she kissed him back with equal fervor, her fingers tangling in his hair. The feel of his body
against hers was electrifying, every point of contact sending a rush of heat through her. She could feel the strength in his grip,
the way his hands moved with purpose as if he was dashing her.
Ehiah's lips moved from her mouth to her neck, trailing hot kisses along her skin. Fiona tilted her head back, giving him more

access, her breath hitching as his lips found a particularly sensitive spot. She clung to him, her hands roaming across his broad
shoulders, down his back, needing to feel more of him.
His hands slid under the hem of her shirt, his fingers brushing against her bare skin, igniting a fire within her. She shivered at his
touch, her body responding to every movement he made. There was nothing gentle about the way he touched her now-
everything was driven by a deep, primal need that they both felt.
Suddenly, a knock on the door interrupted their heated exchange. The two stilled.
They didn't need to ask who it was, as both of them could smell Regor outside.
Fiona looked at Elijah and wanted to laugh out loud when she saw how ugly his face had become. "What is it?" Elijah hissed
while glaring at the door.
"Your Highness.." Regor spoke without opening the door. Since Elijah did not ask him to come inside, he didn't dare walk in
"Alpha Leonard is here to see you. He said it is a very... pressing matter."
Seeing how Elijah's face contorted into pure rage, Fiona quickly touched his arm. "Hey.." she whispered. "This could be about
the rogues or some other emergency... the night is long." She met his gray eyes that had turned so dark, they almost looked
black. Then she smiled. "We have been traveling for hours. I need a shower"

Luckily, her words seemed to calm him down.
Elijah took a deep breath, his gaze still dark but calmer as he looked down at Fiona. He leaned in, capturing her lips in a brief but
intense kiss. "Wait for me," he whispered against her lips, his voice low and full of promise.
Fiona nodded, her voice soft as she replied, "I'll be waiting
Elijah gave her one last look before turning to grab his shirt from the floor. He quickly slipped it on, his movements efficient,
though she could still see the tension in his shoulders. Without another word, he left the room, following Regor to address
whatever pressing matter had arisen.

The moment the door closed behind them, Fiona let out a shaky breath. Her heart was still pounding from their heated
exchange, and she could feel the lingering warmth of his touch on her skin. But she knew she needed to calm down, to collect
herself. She headed straight for the bathroom, eager to wash away the tension. The bathroom was just as luxurious as the
bedroom. with polished marble surfaces and a spacious walk-in shower. Fiona quickly stripped off her clothes and stepped into
the shower, turning on the water as hot as she could stand it.
The moment the hot water hit her skin, she let out a sigh of relief. It cascaded over her, soothing her aching muscles and
washing away the stress of the day. She closed her eyes, letting the warmth envelop her, the steady stream of water a
comforting embrace. Fiona felt the tension slowly melt away. The heat seeped into her body, relaxing her in a way she
desperately needed. She stood under the spray, letting the water work its magic, rinsing away the dirt and grime from their long
journey, along with the intensity of her emotions.
Then a sudden, sharp scent hit her nostrils-something acrid and unfamiliar. She froze, her heart skipping a beat. The smell was
wrong, out of place, like a faint whiff of chemicals mixed with the steam,
Panic surged through her, but before she could react, dizziness washed over her. The room began to spin, her vision blurring as
the strength drained from her limbs,
