Chasing The Rejected Luna’s Heart Chapter 149

“Damon, are you listening to me?” Luca’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I turned to him and he had a worried look on his
face as he stared at
me.
“Are you okay? You have been spacing a lot recently. Are things okay with Clara?” He questioned as he took a seat and I sighed.
“She has been having frequent nightmares nowadays and always seems to be on edge” I told him and he frowned.
“Why? Is it because of the proposed attack her uncle told her about? She has nothing to be worried about, we can handle them”
Luca uttered and I believed that as well but Clara didn’t seem to believe it.
“She feels like we are underestimating them and that I should take this whole thing seriously, which I am. She’s also scared that
other supernatural beings would be after me as well” I said to him and hummed.
“That just means we have to handle this with immediate effect. I have managed to have a human infiltrate her uncle’s group. We
should be getting information anytime soon. Meanwhile, we need to find a way to make the others believe that you have nothing
to do with their kind being killed and that’s where there’s going to be an issue. I heard that the wolves who survived the massacre
last time are spreading lies about you, adding to the fire. We have a lot of damage control to take care of” He pointed out and I
nodded.
“Focus on getting any information you can out of those humans and set up a meeting with the Lycan King first. Out of everyone,
him and his pack are our biggest rivals due to the fact that they’re stronger than normal wolves. As for those traitors, find them
and have them captured dead or alive” I ordered and before he could reply, my phone rang and a smile immediately adorned my
face.

Clara was calling me.
“Hello love” I greeted into the phone as I settled back on my chair.
“When are you coming home? I miss you” She murmured into the phone and I chuckled.
“Now who’s being so clingy?” I teased and I heard her sigh.

“This isn’t funny, Damon,” She said into the phone, making me smile.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be home soon. Luca and I are just rounding up. Have you eaten?” I questioned and I heard her hum in response.
“Delilah took me out, we are on our way back home now” She told me, making me frown.
“Did you take your security with you? If you...”
“Relax, of course I did. I want to be safe as well, you know” She uttered and I sighed.
“Give the phone to Delilah please, I want to speak with her” I said to Clara and I heard a little shuffling before Delilah’s voice
came through. “What is it? You want to threaten me?” She questioned.
“It seems you’re well aware. Protect her with your life, if anything were to happen...”
“Yeah yeah, you’ll kill me with your own hands, I’m well aware. Can you give the phone to Luca? I want to...”
“Hand the phone back to Clara” I interrupted and heard her grumble something under her breath before handing the phone back
to Clara.
“Hello? We are almost home” She told me and I heaved a sigh of relief.
“Good, wait for me at home then. I’ll leave right away and come to you, okay?” I assured her and she hummed in response.
“I love you, rest when you get home, okay?” I murmured then waited for her to hang up before turning to Luca.
“We need to be quick. Set everything into motion and get back to me tonight. I need some Intel on the human hunters tonight” I
uttered as I stood up immediately.
“Okay, copy that. Are you going to let Clara know about everything?” He questioned and I paused as I pondered on his words.
“I’ll tell her whatever will ease her mind. We’ll talk later” I said before grabbing my things and walking away.

Just as I was about to get into my car, my phone rang and I frowned when I saw Luca’s name pop up on the screen.
“What do you...”

“I’ve gotten some information and things are not looking good. Not only are the supernaturals being killed but the humans as well
and the killings are still being framed on you. According to my mole, the humans are extremely furious and want to take action as
soon as they can. They are already going over the plan but he doesn’t have access to those kinds of conversations” He informed
me and I clenched my fist.
“Let them come then, I’ll crush them all with my bare hands” I muttered through clenched teeth but when Luca fell silent, I knew
there was more to this.
“Spit it out” I urged him and he sighed.
“According to my mole, this is all one major misunderstanding. The human hunters are not the only one killing the supernatural
beings, someone or something else is. If you’re not the one killing the humans, then whoever is killing those supernatural beings
is also killing the humans and I guarantee it’s one of your enemies. Whoever it is is trying to turn everyone against you for their
own gain but why? What do they stand to gain?” Luca questioned and I sighed as I got into the car.
“Getting rid of me, that’s what. I want this investigated, we have to find whoever it is immediately before things get rough” I said
as the driver started the car.
“That’s not all. According to my Intel, they have weapons. As a matter of fact, they have several weapons that have been proven
to kill wolves. They have wolves as test subjects and it works incredibly well. One of those weapons can kill at least a hundred
wolves and they are said to have at least fifteen of them. We are at a disadvantage Damon, what exactly can we do now?” He
questioned and the worry in his voice made me growl.
I punched the car window, shattering it to pieces before asking the driver to turn back around so Luca and I could plan this out
properly. I really wanted to be with Clara again that moment but this was getting more serious than I anticipated.
“Every male and female above the age of 17 is eligible to partake in training. Vigorous training starts tonight. All able women and
Men should be present, if not they will be punished. I’m coming back so you and I can go check on the arms we already have” I
said to him.
“Copy that, Alpha” He replied and I immediately hung up before massaging my temples as I let out a deep breath.
I had to take care of this quickly so I could go back to my wife. Hopefully this doesn’t end in a war but if it does then we have to
be ready. One thing was for us, I wouldn’t go down without a fight...
