For the next few days, Suzy and Dylan continued staying at Helena's place.
Even when Simon came looking for her, she refused to go back.
And she made sure to put on a show.
Right in front of Helena, she got into a heated argument with Simon.
"Why should I go back with you?" she snapped.
"Simon, as your sister, I'm warning you don't let love blind you.
"You need to really look into the woman you're sharing a bed with every night.
"Before it's too late and you lose everything."
She turned and pointed at Helena, who was busy enjoying her meal.
"Just look at her-she's a living example! She used to trust Evangeline just like you do. And look where that got her!"
Suzy let out a sharp laugh.
"You have no idea what Evangeline has been doing behind your back, do you?

"Not only is she scheming against me, but she's also trying to set Helena up as a scapegoat!"
She was just getting into it when Simon cut her off.
"So, what you're saying is-you trust her over your own sister-in-law?"
"That's exactly what I'm saying!" Suzy's voice was full of anger.
"Why the hell would I believe Evangeline, when she's done nothing but lie from the very beginning?
"She's been spinning lies while secretly working against me all this time! If she weren't your wife, I would have killed her already.
"But don't think I'll let this slide.

"She owes me, and I will make her pay for every single thing she's done!"
Simon's jaw tightened. "You keep saying she owes you then tell me, what exactly does she owe you? I'll settle the debt for her."
Suzy let out a cold, mocking laugh.
"You? Pay for her sins? You really think you can?"
Suzy, full of fury, pointed at Dylan.
"Dylan ended up like this because of her! And my apprentice, Elliot-he cut ties with me because of her too!
"Evangeline owes me too much! You think you can settle her debts? You can't!"
Simon's frustration was reaching its peak. "So, you just believe everything Helena tells you without proof and investigation? Just
her word?"

His voice hardened. "Suzy, when did you become so reckless?
"If you're going to condemn someone, at least bring evidence!
"Right now, all you have is Helena's accusations. And based on that alone, you're ready to turn against your own sister-in-law?"
"You want evidence?" Suzy jabbed a finger against Simon's chest.
"Fine. I'll find the proof myself and lay it all out in front of you!
"And when that happens, let's see if you still think she's innocent!"
"Good!" Simon's glare was ice-cold.
"Then I'll wait. But if the evidence proves Evangeline is innocent, you'll apologize to her in front of everyone!"
"Fine! If she turns out to be innocent, I won't just apologize I'll put my life on the line!"
The argument ended in a bitter standoff.
As soon as Simon stormed out, Suzy grabbed the nearest vase and smashed it against the floor.

Helena winced, clutching her forehead. "Look, I get that you're mad, but did you really have to take it out on my stuff?"
"What? Was it expensive?"
Suzy pointed at Dylan.
"Pay her back."
"It's not about the money," Helena sighed, glancing at the shattered remains.
"That vase took me forever to find. It's one of a kind."
She pursed her lips before shaking her head. "Never mind. It's broken now-no use crying over it."
Then, her tone softened. "Suzy, I know you're angry, but don't push things too far with your brother.
"No matter what happens, he's still family."
