Provoked by Harlee's composure, Nola had chosen to assume Serena's identity. Instead of answering, she posed a question.
"Harlee, with your sharp mind, why not take a guess at how I came to know?"
Without a moment's hesitation, Harlee responded,
"Serena told you."
Nola quietly observed Harlee. Despite her own belief that she was superior, she had to admit that Harlee truly was the stronger one. She suddenly regretted her past choices. In truth, Harlee had treated her quite well back then. If she hadn't always compared herself to Tonya, their relationship wouldn't have deteriorated to this point.
"Harlee, if I were to say I regret everything, would you forgive me?"
A small spark of hope still lingered within Nola.
Harlee raised her eyelids, her gaze cold as she looked straight at Nola and scoffed, her eyes brimming with disdain.
"I won't forgive you, not in this lifetime or the next.”
Nola staggered back, her eyes filling with bitterness. There it went again! It was Harlee's coldness that had driven her to so many errors. Why, after all these years, did Harlee still not acknowledge her?
Fighting back her rising fury, Nola said,
"Yes, Serena did tell me. That fool thought I genuinely cared for her and spilled everything. Whatever I wanted to know, she'd tell me! She never imagined I'd assume her identity."
Harlee stared at Nola, her expression one of sheer disgust.
"Serena considered you a friend, yet you exploited her for your ambitions. Nola, how could you be so heartless?"

Rather than getting angry when asked questions like this, Nola nodded vigorously, and slowly, she began to lose control.
"I did nothing wrong! Serena is a fool. Even if she rejoins the Happer family, she won't be valued. It's better that I assume her identity and deal with the Rapper family. Besides, I've endured so much injustice in the Happer family on her behalf. She should be grateful for my sacrifices! And you accuse me of being heartless?"
Harlee's eyebrow arched, a flicker of mockery in her gaze.

"What Serena? Nola, aren't you my granddaughter?"
Nola burst into hysterical laughter.
