Chapter 15
“What’s wrong with you? Why you are in such a terrible mood?” Zachariah asked with a frown.
Ophelia answered sarcastically with a smile. “Do I have to pretend to be happy every day?”
Zachariah walked over to her, grabbed her shoulders, and turned her to force her to look him in the eyes. “Answer me, why are you so angry today?”
Ophelia glanced up and replied casually, “I’m just tired, not angry.”
Zachariah still frowned and furrowed his brows. “I can tell you’re unhappy.”
Ophelia didn’t want to explain and found herself an excuse. “It’s hard to understand how a woman is feeling. You can simply regard this as a mood
swing.”
Zachariah believed the lie and nodded. “You’re such a weird woman.”
Ophelia paused when Zachariah continued. “Have a good rest tonight. As for our divorce settlement, I will ask my lawyer to call you so you can sign
Ophelia stiffened and finally nodded. She knew she couldn’t change anything and accepted her fate.
“I still have some work I need to finish. You can sleep. If I work too late, I’ll sleep in the study, so I don’t disturb you.”
Zachariah patted Ophelia on the shoulder and walked past her into the hall. However, Ophelia grabbed his sleeve.
“Mr. Chambers,” Ophelia said, holding onto his sleeve harder than she meant to.
Zachariah turned to look at her and noticed the grief in her eyes. He softened his tone and gently pulled her close. “What’s wrong?”
“Mr. Chambers, can you stay with me?” Ophelia begged him, her heart broken.
Zachariah frowned. “What’s wrong with you? A moment ago, you seemed like you wanted nothing to do with me and now you want me to stay?”
Ophelia sighed. “I just want you to stay with me tonight. Can you forget about your work and spend the night with me?”
Zachariah found it was hard to refuse her and smiled tenderly at her. “Do you really want me to stay with you?”
Ophelia nodded.
“Okay,” Zachariah replied after a moment of hesitation.

Chapter 14 His Answer
“You can go to bed now. I have to take a shower first.” Zachariah said, grabbing his bathrobe.
Zachariah went to the bathroom and took an hour-long relaxing shower.
When he came finished, he found Ophelia was reading a book in bed instead of sleeping.
“Why are you still awake?”
Ophelia pulled the blanket to the side and patted the bed. “I am waiting for you. You usually hug me when I sleep, and I find it hard to sleep any other
way.”
Zachariah took off his bathrobe and put on the pajamas Ophelia laid out for him.
Ophelia pulled out a hairdryer and pat the bed again. “Mr. Chambers, sit down and I’ll help you dry your hair.”
Zachariah sat down as asked and Ophelia helped him dry his hair. A flicker of nostalgia passed through her as she was rubbing his hair.
For the first two years in their marriage, Ophelia would help him dry his hair every time he took a shower. However, as the years passed, she rarely
got the chance to do such a mundane thing.
It would be impossible for her to help him again if they got divorced.
Realizing all of that, Ophelia’s heartache grew far worse.
