Awake for Love: My Coma Bridegroom

Chapter 661

Odette breezed past him and strode into Elijah's office with determination in her step.

Joey ribbed Ramsey, "Looks like your wife's here to stir up a storm."

Ramsey sighed in resignation, "She insisted on coming, even though I told her not to. She's adamant that the woman in the video isn't Violette. But I've watched it over and over. I'm pretty sure it is Violette."

Joey said, "They're close friends. Of course, she's going to take Violette's side. Mike's the same. He told me the woman in the video is actually Nora. The voice was dubbed over by Nora, and the baby bump was just some fancy special effects... He was so convincing. I almost believed him."

Ramsey said incredulously, "He thinks we're making a movie or something!"

Joey adjusted his glasses. "It's a possibility, albeit a slim one. They can't accept Violette as that kind of woman more than we can."

"You're right. Odette saw the video and went ballistic. I couldn't calm her down."

"My boss is on edge too. He hasn't done anything drastic yet, but I feel like he could blow at any second. I'm too scared to go in there. You're up, buddy!" Joey patted Ramsey on the shoulder.

Worried about Odette causing trouble, Ramsey braced himself and entered.

"Violette was lured to that hotel under false pretenses!" Odette declared, standing in front of Elijah's desk. "Just find the person who stole my phone, so we can force him to tell us who's behind this."

Elijah asked, "Show me the texts from your phone."

"The thief deleted them! The cunning of that thief suggests it's not a one-person job - they're definitely part of a gang!" Odette theorized.

Elijah wanted to believe her, but it was hard to do so on her word alone.

"Odette, I know you and Violette are besties, so you'd lie for her..." Brandon chimed

in.

"What makes you think I'm lying?

Just because you're older than me?" Odette's temper flared. "My husband can attest to my phone being missing a week ago, and I only got it back because I went to Violette for it. Are you suggesting she stole my phone?" Content belongs to Novelxo.org

"It's possible you just left your phone with her by accident. Now to clear her name, you're pinning it on some phantom thief. Do you take us for fools? Brandon spoke pointedly. "If you want us to believe you, you need evidence." Content belongs to Novelxo.org

Odette's eyes reddened. She was feeling utterly helpless.

They didn't believe her, and they were even less likely to believe Violette.

"Brandon, has Melinda bought you off? This whole mess is her doing! Ever since she brought her cousin back to the country, things have been off. Can't you see it?!" Odette accused loudly.

Melinda was also there.

Upon hearing her name, Melinda

responded with controlled

composure; "You can slander me, Odette, but don't drag my cousin into this. She's been recuperating at home from an injury, and hasn't left the house what harm could she possibly do? Furthermore, Violette should be the one to explain herself, not you." Content belongs to Novelxo.org

Ramsey, mortified, apologized to Melinda before forcibly escorting Odette out.

A tear rolled down Melinda's cheek. “Elijah, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought Nora

to the company. I'll send her away right now." She paused, then added, "But I can assure you, the person in the video isn't Nora..."

"Get out!" Elijah's voice thundered. His Adam's apple was bobbing with intensity. "Everyone out!"

Soon, he was alone in the office.

His dark eyes flickered with unspeakable torment.

An internal battle raged within him.

He picked up his phone, hesitated for a moment, and then dialed Violette's number.
