Chapter 285
Chapter 285 Leslie Is Alive
"I'll go see her."
Xander
was referred to Rachel.
Upon hearing Xander back down, Ivana didn't feel right continuing to press Isabel.
If she kept at it, what if Xander changed his mind?
"I'll go with you. I know some medicine. I can check on her," Isabel said, coming down from upstairs.
She thought that Ivana had shown up so early because Rachel must have been crying and begged Ivana to come to Xander.
After all, this woman had spent the night having a good time with Christian, and now she was all about Xander, acting like her
feelings for him were deep and unshakable.
Her emotional fortitude was truly extraordinary.
Ivana reached out to stop her and said, "You're cruel. Do you want to go to the hospital to see Rachel right now? You want to
make her crazy, don't you?"
Isabel said nothing about this. Her eyes narrowed as she watched Leo, waiting for him to speak.
"What's going on?" Xander asked, looking at Leo.
"Boss, this is big!" Leo said, glancing briefly at Isabel.
Isabel raised an eyebrow. Was she not supposed to hear this?
"Should I leave?" She asked.
"No need," Xander replied, then turned to Leo. "Go ahead."
Without wasting time, Leo spoke. "I just got the news. After the fire at the Nelsons' residence, the bodies of two adults and one
child were found. But the child wasn't Ms. Nelson." What?
That little girl isn't Leslie?
Isabel's shock was even greater than Xander and Ivana's. Her heart pounded in disbelief.
"What's going on?" Xander asked, furrowing his brow.
"Twenty years ago, the fire was so intense that they couldn't get a DNA sample from Ms. Nelson," Leo continued. This was
something Xander and Ivana already knew.
l.ne
DNA, they had concluded it was Leslie.
"So, are you saying that with today's technology, they've figured it out?" Isabel asked, her voice urgent. Xander looked at Isabel
with suspicion.
"Yes," Leo replied, then looked at Xander. "Boss, didn't you ask me to revisit the investigation into the Nelsons residence? That's
why the coroner rechecked the evidence. They discovered the child's body doesn't match with Ms. Nelson's."
"So, whose body was it? Where's Leslie? Is she dead or alive?" Ivana asked, her voice trembling with anxiety.
Leo found himself in a tough spot.
"Has Richie heard about this?" Xander asked.
"Mr. Pearce just got the news. He's probably already on his way to the Nelsons' residence," Leo responded.
"We're going there too," Xander said, striding out the door.
"I'm coming too." Isabel had been wondering about her connection to Leslie for some time, and now the answer was finally
starting to come into focus. When Ivana got into the car, she saw Isabel already sitting inside.
"What are you doing here?" Ivana asked, irritation clear in her voice.
"None of your business," Isabel replied. But then, a flash of fragmented memories suddenly crossed her mind.
In her mind's eye, a little girl with short legs was running toward a girl, calling out "Ivana" over and over.
That Ivana was unmistakably Ivana, and though the memories were fleeting, Isabel could feel Ivana's deep affection for little
Leslie.
As she thought about it, Isabel's brow furrowed, her emotions swirling in a way she couldn't quite understand.
Ivana saw Isabel's reaction and assumed that Isabel simply didn't feel like talking to her.
