Candy glanced around, trying to divert her attention, and walked in front of Chloe, pretending to be relaxed. “Who called you just
now? Aren’t Michael and James back yet?”
Putting her phone aside, Chloe replied, “Michael called me and said that William’s brother was hunted down and killed.”
“Dead?” Candy was shocked. Although she hadn’t seen Erik, she thought he had been fine.
“Who was hunting him? His enemies?” Candy asked.
Chloe shook her head. “I have no idea. We’ll have to wait for Michael and James to come back and find out. They are guarding
the murderer now.”
All they could do was wait for Michael and James to return,and learn what had happened.
This incident was so shocking that Candy even temporarily forgot about her sadness regarding Wesley, as her mind was
consumed by the news of Erik’s sudden death.
“Chloe, do you think we should inform William about this news?” Candy asked.

After all, Erik was his younger brother. Even though William had previously stated that he wouldn’t acknowledge him, at the very
least, the Clark family needed to be informed.
Perhaps they needed to claim Erik’s body. It couldn’t remain in the hospital indefinitely, especially considering their mother was
still there.

Chloe pondered for a moment and decided to call William.

suggested, “Let’s watch a comedy. It’s really popular.”
Candy didn’t refuse. She picked up some chips and began munching.

remembered how good his wife was and went back to her. What a jerk!”
Chloe was speechless but couldn’t deny that Candy’s summary was quite accurate.
“Do you think Wesley is also going to look for his first love, Chloe?” Candy asked.
Chloe felt that Candy was too immersed in the movie. “Candy, even if he went to find his first love, you’re not his wife who would
sacrifice everything for him!”
Candy would never give up everything for a man. She was a person who sought pleasure and freedom. She couldn’t possibly
