A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo)

Chapter 429

Chapter 429 Business is Business
Tessa held Melody by her shoulder, looking heartbroken. She couldn't help shedding tears as well, soothing, "You're a wonderful
person. In fact, you are perfect in my book. Theo is the one with poor taste in ladies. How about you stop loving him and find
someone else for yourself instead?"
Truth be told, she believed that Douglas was a good man. Although his career couldn't hold a candle to Theo's, he was loving.
Melody's happiness was all but guaranteed if she became his wife.
It was a shame that Melody didn't see things this way.
"I-I don't want to have feelings for him if I could, but I-I just can't help it." Then, she clutched her chest and cried her heart out.
Tessa had expected as much. She could persuade Melody for as long as she wanted but still be unable to change Melody's
mind. No matter what happened, Melody's feelings for Theo would never fizzle out.
Douglas chuckled bitterly, feeling deeply disappointed and dejected. Perhaps it was time for him to give up on Melody as well.
...
"You might not be able to control your feelings, but can't you control the accident at the party?" Gordon reprimanded her the
moment he stepped through the door. Abigail came upstairs with him and hurriedly shot a look at Melody, warning her to think

before replying.
However, Melody was still heartbroken that Theo had publicly proposed to Sierra. She was in no mood to care about anything
else, let alone Gordon's reproach.
Gordon's anger intensified when he saw that Melody ignored him. Glancing at Tessa and Douglas, he plastered a smile and
politely thanked them. "I appreciate you guys for caring for Melody today. I'll call you two over for a meal sometime."
Tessa cast a concerned glance at Melody and rose to her feet. "Mr. Jones, you're too kind. Melody and I are best friends, and
this is what I should do. I'll be taking my leave now."
Gordon nodded in response. Then, he informed Abigail, "See them out."
Douglas gave Melody a soulful look before he walked out as well. "Melody, I'll see you again."

She didn't respond to him. All she could do was lie on the couch and wallow in her sorrow. Gordon saw it and couldn't resist
frowning. "Douglas is talking to you."
"Mr. Jones, it's okay. I'm fine with it," Douglas hurriedly interrupted, stopping Gordon.
Gordon flashed him a grateful look and responded, "I won't make you stay today. Let's have a meal together with Tess
sometime."
Douglas grinned in response and left with Tessa.
In the blink of an eye, Gordon and Melody were left alone in the room. Walking over to the couch, he took a seat. Although he

had a cold gaze, he spoke with heartfelt sincerity.
"Melody, you didn't think things through with what you did today."
She sat upright, wiped her tears off, and resumed her usual arrogance. "I was just trying to get Theo to change his mind. I did
nothing wrong."
Gordon looked at her, a trace of cunningness flashing in his eyes. "I didn't say that you did something wrong, but you can't deny
that you used a poor method to achieve your goals.
"Do you have any idea what would happen if Hayley and Sierra actually called the police? Our family would've become
everyone's laughingstock."
Melody finally realized how serious the whole thing was when she heard that they wanted to call the police. She asked
nervously, "Did they do it?"
He finally softened his tone when he saw that she was scared. "I managed to stop them this time, but I can't guarantee it will
work again. If you truly have feelings for Theo, keep trying to win his heart. won't stand against it, but you can never use such
petty tricks anymore." She wasn't surprised that he supported her decision. After all, the Jones family would stand to gain a lot if
she managed to marry herself into the Gray family. However, she didn't even know where to begin.
"Dad, what do you think I have to do to get Theo to notice me?" she asked solemnly.
Gordon crossed his feet and leaned backward; his flickering eyes were
laced with cunningness. "Theo

values his career first and foremost. It doesn't matter how you're
connected to him. He will
iparate
personal feelings when it involves his career and the company's interests."
