Chapter 46
"What? Are you telling me we can't even speak freely online anymore?"
"They've already said it, the internet is not a lawless space. What are you so afraid of if you're not insulting anyone?"
BabyGoosey typed angrily, "What, so when it comes to someone like "vicious gal," I can't even say a few things?"
"User BabyGoosey has been issued a warning."
BabyGoosey immediately responded, "What? What did I say wrong? Why am I being warned?"
"Sis, you insulted someone."
BabyGoosey sent a string of gibberish, clearly venting their frustration and disbelief.
Despite the grumbling, the comment section quickly became much more civil.
Instead of referring to Demi as "vicious gal", people gradually started calling her by her actual name—Demi.
However, Demi was completely unaware of the drama in the comment section. She remained absorbed in her book, her focus unshaken.
On the other side of the screen, Benedict was watching the livestream, his expression warm and pleased.
Smiling, he nodded and said, "Mr. Higg did a great job. Ms. Demi is a hardworking and studious young lady."
Sean stood silently beside him.
If Demi knew she was being praised by Benedict, who knew how she'd react?
...
Demi had been waiting at the base of Mt. Ashridge for about ten minutes before the other guests finally arrived.
"Demi!" As soon as Maria spotted her, she rushed over, her face lighting up with excitement.
"Maria, hi everyone," Demi said as she waved and greeted Maria and the rest of the group with a warm smile.
"Hi, Demi!"
"You got here really early!"
The others returned her greeting warmly.
After the last livestream, most of them had developed a good impression of Demi, though Thomas and Ana were obvious exceptions.
"Maria, you promised last time that you wouldn't hog Demi all to yourself. This time, we're going to team up with her," George said, his expression
determined.
"Haha, if I didn't know it was because of the food, I'd think George had a crush on Demi!"
"Food is life, totally understandable. If I were him, I'd cling to Demi too and never let go."
"I've changed my mind. No, you can't," Maria shot back, lifting her chin with a playful defiance.
George stared at her, momentarily speechless.
"Mr. Hahn, how about we form a group of four?" George turned to the director, Matt Hahn, and spoke with a hopeful expression.
Since Maria was his senior and also a woman, he didn't feel comfortable arguing with her directly.
"The show hasn't even started yet. Calm down, everyone." Matt laughed cheerfully, stepping in to diffuse the tension.
"Once I announce today's task, you might end up liking your original partner even more."
"Nope, that won't happen," he said with absolute certainty and shook his head firmly.
"If you say it like that, Chad's going to feel hurt," Matt said with a laugh.
"Haha! He does understand."
"Because Chad knows how it feels to eat charcoal too! LOL!"
"These two are hilarious."
"All right, now that everyone's here, let me announce today's task. You all know what mountain porters are, right?" His cheerful smile remained in
place as he let his gaze travel across the eight contestants.

"Mountain porters?" someone murmured.
"Yeah, I've heard about them," another chimed in, and the others nodded in recognition.
"Mr. Hahn, you're not seriously going to make us carry stuff up the mountain, are you?" Nigel asked, narrowing his eyes suspiciously.
The group collectively froze at Nigel's words.
"You're kidding, right, Mr. Hahn?"
"The mountain is so high, and the steps are so steep. It's already hard enough just climbing it ourselves, and now you want us to carry things too?"
"Mr. Hahn, you're probably just going to let us observe the work of mountain porters, right? Like, we're just watching them in action, not actually doing
the work?"
The group erupted in a chaotic chorus of questions and complaints, each voice overlapping the other as everyone tried to speak at once.
