Chapter 704
"You wanna argue with me? Honey, you don't stand a chance!" Calliope shot Oliver a look and said, "Honestly, I don't know what you want from me, but I'm here to tell you off, plain and simple!"
"Old man, quit dreaming. Silas isn't coming back to you! And he sure as hell isn't making you his heir! Stop daydreaming, would you?"
"If you've got this much energy to chase after Silas, you'd be better off picking up some random guy off the street and raising him yourself, might be faster, too."
Calliope's mouth was like a machine gun. Oliver couldn't even get a word in.
Off to the side, the woman frowned and stared at Calliope.
"You're Calliope? Silas's wife?" the woman suddenly asked.
Calliope's radar kicked in. "Oh, you know Silas? Sound pretty chummy, do you know my husband or what?"
"I do," the woman replied coolly. "I've known Silas since we were kids. I knew him long before you did. Sure, it's been a while, but I'm sure Silas would remember me."
"So you were his childhood friend?" Calliope sized her up, still suspicious. Silas had never brought up any old friends like this.
"That's right. We were close as kids," the woman said, then added, "I'm not just his friend. I'm Silas's future wife. My name's Blythe White."
Calliope was speechless. Did she just hear that right? Future wife?
"You heard me," Blythe said, as if reading her mind. "I've already talked to his dad. Silas and I are getting I married. But before that, you need to sort things out with Silas. You're not right for him. You're just holding him back. Silas should be with me. My family can do a lot for him." Content belongs to Novelxo.org
Blythe looked at her like this was all perfectly reasonable.

"Girl, did you run this little marriage plan by Silas?" Calliope shot back "Cause honestly, if you're asking this old geezer for permission, you might as well marry him instead! Content belongs to Novelxo.org S
"And by the way, bigamy is illegal. Silas and I are already married. We actually like each other-heck, we're even thinking about having a baby."
"As for you? Step aside, sweetheart. You say you've known him longer than me? That's funny. I could just say we were soulmates in a past life!"
She rolled her eyes.
"Oliver, you brought me here to talk to a lunatic? You really think this is gonna make me divorce Silas?"
"Dream on! Unless Silas himself comes to me and says he wants out, it's not happening!"
"So, are you two done with your little soap opera? Because if you are, I'm heading home for Christmas dinner!"
"Honestly, running into you two drama queens on Christmas Eve is just my luck!"
