Chapter 492
On the third day of Lukas's business trip, Reese had a twitch in her eyelids all day long.
She had been restless all day, and she was about to go home from work in the afternoon.
Reese noticed that the people she worked with looked at her strangely, but nobody bothered to come up and talk to her.
Reese was confused but didn't pay much attention. She sent a message to Lukas, but there was still no reply and the phone call
was out of reach.
However, the disaster caused by the typhoon in Las Pinas is too great. There is no news now, but it may not be good news.
Lukas has been out of contact and Reese is heartbroken at the thought of what a mess the two of them had been.
She packs up her things, turns on her cell phone, and decides to take a leave of absence and book a flight to Las Pinas. She
was determined to find Lukas and get to the bottom of the unsettling situation.
Just as she reached for her phone, it buzzed with a message from Ava. The unexpected message piqued her interest and raised
concerns about Lukas's well- being.
[Ava: Reese, what are you doing?]
wrong?]
[Ava: Don't go!]
[Reese: What's wrong?]
Reese's heart sank as she sensed something might be amiss with Lukas, prompting Ava's caution.
[Reese: Ava, did something happen to Lukas?]
[Ava: It's not Lukas! Don't think too much!]
[Reese: What is it?]
[Ava: Stop asking. I'm on my way to find you. Wait at the company and try to find a secluded place to stay until I arrive.]
Reese couldn't fully grasp the implications of Ava's message, but the sense of worry in Ava's words was palpable.
Meanwhile, Ava was hurrying to reach Strakovski Jewelry.
Reese's friend and colleague had discovered something that she urgently needed to share with Reese. Mariel was impassioned
to stand by her side and unearth the truth behind the false accusations circulating online.
[Mariel: Reese don't be afraid. No matter what happens, I will stand by your side. I know that the person on the internet isn't you.
It appears that someone is framing you. I've seen the woman in the video, and I'm working on exposing her identity and
Reese was left stunned by the revelations as she contemplated the suspicious behavior of some coworkers in her design
department. With a sense of foreboding, she tightened her resolve and headed to the bathroom
[Reese: Mariel, what happened?]
Mariel, on the other side of the line, was equally taken aback.
[Mariel: Reese, you're not aware of what's happening?]
Frustration gnawed at Mariel, her fiery temper getting the better of her. She couldn't believe that Reese had spent the entire day
working, apparently oblivious to the incriminating photos and videos that had surfaced on the internet later in the afternoon.
Reese remained silent, her mind racing. She needed to get to the bottom of what was unfolding. Her next instinct was to check
her Facebook account.
Almost immediately upon opening the app, a barrage of private messages inundated her inbox. The overwhelming number of
notifications sent a shiver down her spine.
Reese hesitated for a moment, then with trembling fingers, she selected one of the messages to view.
[Anonymous message: Reese, I've long admired your reputation as a brilliant jewelry designer. Little did I know, it was all a
facade concealing your true, despicable nature. Today, I've discovered your sordid secret-seducing a married man. How can you
be so heartless? Why don't you just disappear and die?]
Beneath this message, an array of angry red dots marked countless more awaiting her attention. She couldn't summon the
courage to explore the rest, and dread settled heavily in her heart.
