Chapter 472
Lukas' eyes focused on the disk. It was a science fiction movie that was set against the backdrop of a starry night sky. It was the
story of an interstellar war, with the male and female protagonists' quest for, and eventual achievement of, interstellar peace.
With limited emotional dialogue, the movie featured many scenes of conspiracy and war.
He was somewhat surprised that this was the movie Reese had in mind.
He agreed, "All right. If this is what you want, then let's watch it."
With the disk in his hand, he walked over to the player, set it up, and then walked back over to the sofa.
Reese became noticeably anxious as Lukas approached her.
Even though they had spent time together on their own before, it was a
completely different experience now that their relationship had been officially defined.
As she watched Lukas approach, she couldn't help but notice that he had brought a bottle of red wine with him.
"Yes. It's a good red wine," Lukas nodded. "It is perfect to enjoy while watching a movie."
Reese was worried, "Will this get us drunk?"
Lucas giggled quietly, "Getting drunk with this is not that easy. Besides, this red wine doesn't have a high alcohol content. It's just
enough to get a little tipsy."
On the inside, Reese was upset. Getting tipsy could lead to confusion, and she'd never seen a case where a couple's intimacy
had taken place while under the influence of alcohol. Usually, alcohol was used as an excuse in such situations.
These thoughts made her even more nervous.
"Well," she declared, gripping the pillow on the sofa tightly. "You have to drink that yourself! I won't drink it!"
Lukas wasn't unaware of what was going on in Reese's head. He could make an educated guess about her concerns.
Before their relationship, Reese might have had a sense that her marital obligations were part of the deal, but now it was a
different story. In a loving relationship, things are supposed to happen in a natural way.
At the sight of Reese's nervous demeanor, Lukas couldn't help but smile inwardly. He found her adorable.
Although he was attracted to Reese and felt strongly about her, he fully respected what she wanted to do.
With that in mind, he looked at her with a deep sense of amusement and said, "All right, if you don't want to drink, then I won't
either."
Reese visibly relaxed.
The credits ended and the main feature began.
Reese suggested, "Let's watch the movie!"
Lukas agreed, and they both immersed themselves in the movie.
As Reese watched the film, Lukas's attention was divided between the screen and her.
The movie provided a flickering light that danced across Reese's face.
Unbeknownst to her, Lukas was watching her and not the film.
All of a sudden, Reese turned to look at him, only to realize that he was still watching the movie.
She had a puzzled look on her face and thought that there might have been a mistake.
At that moment, Lukas inquired, "Why do you like movies with this theme?"
Reese replied truthfully, "I have a fondness for reading novels with a technological element. So I like seeing science fiction
movies; they're more exciting! It's like watching the books you're reading come to life!"
Lukas nodded in recognition that Reese's tastes were different from the typical girl's tastes.
