A deal with the devil

Chapter 170

Chapter 170
Despite Shirley’s explanation, Benjamin refused to Esten
Samuel, sitting beside her, noticed the small gesture and heard her soft, pleading words. His hand tightened under the table, and
his heart ached with sorrow,
Even though he was right next to her, he felt like an outsider. Why was she so determined to justify herself to Benjamin? Was
she truly worried about being misunderstood by him?
As Benjamin continued to ignore her, shirley tugged at his clothes once more in desperation.
Benjamin finally reacted to the touch of Shirley’s hand on his clothes. He looked at her hand and said calmly, “Ms. Weiss, please
remove your hand from my y trousers!
Instantly, alleves at the table were fixed on the two of them. Their expressions ranged from curious to disapproving,
They saw Shirley as a seductive and gold–dering woman trying to make advances on a man in public. How could a well–bred
lady lay her hand on a man’s trousers? It was highly
The Mendosa couple’s faces showed a mix of emotions that were difficult to decipher.

Shirley’s face turned bright red as she quickly withdrew her hand. She had been pulling at the hem of Benjamin’s shirt, not
touching his pants. By addressing her as “Ms. Weiss” in front of everyone he was deliberately misleading others about their
relationship.
Samuel could no longer hold back his words. He turned to Benjamin with a smirk and said, “Mr. Blackwood, Shirley accidentally
brushed against your clothes just now. I’ve heard rumors that you have a distaste for women, but it seems it’s even stronger than
people say.”
Benjamin looked at Samuel with a bored expression, but there was a hint of mockery in his eyes. “Mr. Moore, you make it sound
so Insignificant. It appears that you have been touched by women quite often as well.”
Shirley’s face drained of color as she tightly clasped her hands together. Benjamin’s words were direct and brutally insulting to
her. She realized that no matter what actions she took tonight, they would all be wrong in his eyes!

Unlike Shirley, Samuel was not a patient person. He glowered at Benjamin with frustration and spoke in a stern tone. “Mr.
Blackwood, show some respect, please.”
Cahrin took pleasure in the moment shouldn’t it be you, Mr. Moore, who shows respect? Can’t you see that Ms. Weiss is
obviously uninterested in your attention right now? There’s a time and place for courting someone, after all.”
Samuel’s protective gaze shined to Shirley’s face as he urged her to come sit next to him. Despite the pain from pinching her

hands tightly, Shirley kept her composure and focused on the tablecloth in front of her while pressing her lips together firmly in
silence.
“shirley..”

“Please, Mr. Moore, just leave me be.” She lifted her face and gave a stern stare at the man in front of her.
Samuel felt like someone had choked him as he was met with Shirley’s cold expression. Benjamin observed their interaction with
a smirk on his lips.
The others were too afraid to even breathe. They could sense the tension in the air. The Mendosa couple were completely
confused and clueless about what was happening
The heated exchange had finally ended. Shirley knew better than to make any further impulsive moves. Tonight, she had
experienced firsthand how cruel and spiteful Benjamin could be.
Despite having countless grievances of her own, she forced herself to swallow them down. This was the path she had chosen,
and she had to see it through, even if it meant enduring more suffering
was well aware that she couldn’t match Benjamin’s anger, so she decided not to bother trying anymore. All she wanted was for
this dinner party to end as quickly as possible. Soon enough, the dishes were served, and Shirley kept her head down, hoping
that what she didn’t see wouldn’t trouble her. Thankfully, Samuel seemed to understand her situation and didn’t cause her any
further difficulties
However, he sat beside her and continued to drink one glass of wine after another. Eventually, red dots appeared on his skin–a
clear sign of an alcohol allergy. In the past, Shirley would have stopped him from drinking this much.
