A deal with the devil

Chapter 161

Chapter 161
But even Shirley was shameless, what did that have to do with Sabrina? It wasn’t her business.
Benjamin reached out and genthe stroked Damian in Shirley’s arms, making it clear this was a matter between husband and
wife. It was not an outsider’s concern.
Benjamin’s actions left many people puzzled. They wondered what he meant by doing this now.
Sabrina clenched her fists tightly. Wasn’t Benjamin supposed to despise Shirley? Hadn’t he kicked her out? Hadn’t he hinted to
Daniel that she wouldn’t be Mrs. Blackwood for much longer?
Questions overwhelmed Sabrina, leaving her completely battled.
Marcus leaned back lazily in the leather chair, his sharp eyes filled with mockery. These women were complete idiots.
Shirley glanced at Benjamin, her palm already drenched in sweat. Though she appeared calm, she was a nervous wreck inside.

Showing off her intelligence in front of Benjamin had been a gamble, and she wasn’t sure how it would end. Her fate now
depended entirely on what he would say.
After a moment, Benjamin finally withdrew his hand from Damian’s head. His sharp, blade–like gaze locked onto Sabrina “Get
this woman out of my sight.”
Sabrina froze, her body stiffening as she shouted in frustration, “Why, Mr. Blackwood? You don’t even like her!”
Benjamin’s voice was utterly cold as he said, “Who are you to interfere in my affairs? I don’t want to see you again.”
Sabrina’s face was ashen as she was escorted out
Benjamin’s gaze settled on Elizabeth and Emily. They were so terrified they barely dared to breathe. Regretting their actions,
they realized Benjamin was completely unpredictable, perhaps even a lunatic
Even Shirley was surprised; Benjamin seemed to have eyes that could see through any pretense.
By now, Benjamin had lost interest. He turned his head slightly and gave Shirley a brief glance. As if reading his mind, she
immediately stepped aside, clearing a path for him, and quietly followed

Passing Daniel, Benjamin paused. “You’re bringing along women like that? What a disgrace.”
Everyone was stunned. Disgrace? Wasn’t that supposed to be directed at Shirley?
Hearing Benjamin’s words, Daniel was upset but didn’t dare to show it. Emily felt as though her heart was being squeezed, achill
creeping from her chest down to her limbs, making her shiver. Benjamin, the man everyone in Elderstone feared, was truly
terrifying
After leaving the private room, Shirley followed Benjamin into the elevator. Holding Damian, who had fallen asleep, she stole a
quick glance at him, then another. “Thank you for earlier,” she murmured.
Benjamin turned his gaze on her, noticing her tense posture. A cold, mocking smille played on his lips. “You were pretty bold just
now.
“No, I wasn’t!” Shirley protested. “They were the ones being completely unreasonable. If you’d heard what they said in the
restroom, you’d be furious. It was awfull
Benjaminsed an eyebrow. “You seem to know me well
Shirley tree for a moment. “No. Not at all just a guess.”
Benjamin’s gaze shifted from her face to the descending numbers on the elevator display. “No. You understand me very well”
He knew it wasn’t just understanding–she was clever too
Shirley stared at him in silence, unsure how to respond.
