“Ms. Lambert, this is all so sudden. Did something happen? Ariana asked.
No matter how terrible the circumstance she was in, Gwen would never tell Ariana that she had borrowed money from loan
sharks. It was part of the Torreys‘ principles to over come into contact with them.
If word about this got out, Gwen would never be able to live it down. Ariana might even use it against her to kick her out of the
family.
Ariana knew from the beginning that Gwen would never come clean to her about the loan sharks. She just smiled and said, “I’ll
send a contract to you. Once you put your signature on it, the contract will immediately go into effect. I’ll have someone in the
finance department transfer the money to you.
“However, Ms. Lambert, please be informed this also means that you and Igor will give up the right to all of the inheritance my
father left behind ”
Being face to face with the terrifying loan sharks, Gwen couldn’t even spare a moment to think about the consequences of
signing the contract. “Fine! I’ll sign the contract. I’ll sign it right now!”
Ariana promptly sent the contract over to Gwen’s phone. Gwen wasn’t even in the right mind to look over the details of the

contract. She signed it without another word.
It didn’t even take a minute before a notification appeared on Gwen’s phone. As promised, Ariana had transferred the money to
her. But in the next second, the money was transferred away and into the loan sharks‘ account. It all happened in less than 20
seconds as if everything had already been planned.
But Gwen was too afraid at that moment in time. She didn’t realize that there was something odd about the whole situation.
“I bet you still have some money on you! You kept dragging things on and on before, hurry up and give us all the valuable jewelry
that you own!”
Gwen didn’t dare go against Jeremy’s orders. She nearly sprinted up the staircase in her rush to get to her safe. She prabbed
everything and anything that had value.

Carson had gifted her these luxurious goods and precious jewelry when he was still alive. Even though many years had passed
since then, Gwen had always thought them too precious to wear. She had only worn them once, during Igor’s birthday
celebration.

Gwen handed her treasures over to Jeremy.
Jeremy had only glanced at them for a second before he grabbed Gwen’s collar. He shouted, “You scheming bitch! You have the

Gwen was scared out of her wits by Jeremy. She had indeed fried to hide some of the jewelry. But she was too frightened to
wonder how Jeremy knew she hadn’t given everything up.
